I want to build an enclosure for my 9512 that's on its way.
Some testing with my 3512, in the Getz, at different angles reveals that sub and port firing straight at the ceiling seems to yield the best numbers.
To make the best use of the limited amount of space, if I can, I want to angle the rear of the box so that it will sit flush against back of the rear seats.
Having the port following the contour of the rear of the box, thus getting slightly wider as it goes in, is a real no-no right?
So instead, I have to make it so that it's more like a 'sleeve', so the rear of the port has a wall that is seperate to the back of the enclosure?
Will this lower output or have an effect on quality (it's SPL biased, but I still want it to sound good) due to some sort of turbulence?
Or should I just build a box with 90 degree angles, forget about that little bit of extra space gained and keep things simple? (Note: I'd rather do this than use an aeroport, if this is a suggested way to solve this dilema)
Hope this makes sense.
