I'm Sam from Sydney, 33 ... how's it going everybody?
I know its against first post etiquette and VERY off-topic, but I was wondering if I could post a link to a fundraising campaign for The Smith Family.
It's real simple and only takes 2 minutes. You just need to watch a 30-second clip and a very big software company you all know will donate $1 to The Smith Family. I wont name the company unless its ok as I dont want to spam or break any rules. If you want to find out its on The Smith Family homepage.
Its a great cause and they're trying to raise $100,000... for some reason theyve only raised just over $1000.
So I hope its cool... if any mods are around and can give me the thumbs up, that would be great!
Either way... I hope to get more involved in the forum and to getting to know everyone..!
Cheers,
Sam.

Hi Sam,
As you correctly guessed, it's better to get to know some people before asking for money.
Have fun, sit back, relax and read a lot - the Tutorials section is full of great ideas and advice for beginners in Audio.

It's not really asking for money, just asking for time, which isn't too bad. Though if you up and leave as soon as the link is here people might not be particularly kind, but if you hang round and contribute, get in some good discussions and chatty etc, I don't see it being a problem. Hell, most of us could open the movie and not watch it anyway, just let it run

Yeah fair enough I hear you...! Just to be clear there is NO money being asked for, maybe about 2 minutes of your time... thats it!
Anyway I wont post it because I dont want to break any rules or fend off fierce flaming but if anyone is interested just visit The Smith Family's website (google it) and you can find the link there..!
I'll definitely hang around and try to learn from you mobiaudiophiles as I miss my old Pioneer 12-stack in my old Mazda MX6 and the Jackaroo I have now doesnt really seem worthy... the suspension is louder than any sub-woofer could ever be...!
Thanks fellas...!
Sam.

hahahah
you are in the right place - mobile entertainment has come a long way in the last few years, a sub to overpower your suspension would be well under $1000, possibly even around $500 if you buy 2nd hand - and still small enough to fit under a seat.
