I have just downloaded a program but can't set it up.
i click on the icon and it says, "an install-on-demand component is required for this operation" and proceed's to download "Express burn" program. which appears to be related to a program called switch i allready have that changes music formats. but i don't see how this new program helps me open the downloaded program.
I tried opening the file with a different program and the only option was "switch"
any ideas or help would be appreciated

An .iso file is a virtual image of a CD, all the contents of the CD stored into the .iso file. You'd normally use a burning application like Nero to burn the .iso to a CD, and run the program from there. Or you can use something like Alcohol 120% to make a virtual drive, which mimicks a real CD drive, just the data is the contents of the .iso file. Last option is to use a program like lsoBuster to extract the contents of the .iso to your hard drive, and try run the program from there.

What program is it?
I prefer MagicDisc for mounting ISO's.
Nice and light, yet powerful.
Download, install, right-click on the icon in your notifications bar, virtual CD/DVD-ROM, No Media, Mount..., browse for the ISO.
The ISO will be 'mounted' as a virtual CD/DVD-ROM and will appear in My Computer as such.

You naughty pirates.
I use the ol'trusty daemon tools for virtual drives. Works a treat for those curious.

I started using MagicISO because there was one file type that it supported, and Daemon Tools didn't.
It also seems a little 'lighter'.
Most of my uses for mounting ISO's, these days, are completely legitimate.
