DB livin life..
running some enclosure dimension/port tuning freq's for a single crossfire xt2 15, i have two enclosure options one is 3.7est(4.15gross)cuft after ports and woofer the other is 4cuft est.(4.6gross)... i am wondering if i will have enough port area( for these two enclosure options, with three 4' ports ??
Reason behind the choice of three 4's is i wont be able to get the length of four 4's or two 6's(first thought) to acheive my tuning freq, 30hz is what i wantedl, upto 40hz i'll deal with... would actually like around 25hz but beggers cant be chooses!

Could the boom box building pro's give me some insight please

(thoughts= 3.7cuft/three 4'x28' acheive 35hz. 4cuft/three 4'x25'=30hz)

3M-W018- dont by all means think i am questioning your specs above.. but a little info on how you worked that out would help me understand a bit better... the specs i listed above where aided by this web site: http://www.carstereo.com/help/Articles.cfm?id=31 which i thought was pretty straight forward.. i put the specs you listed above and it stated that for me to acheive 35hz with two 6" ports i would need 29" in length? unsure.gif you state 13.5" which is alot of difference? it is all so confusing

also by using the 4" diameter it will be easier for me gain the length because i can use some 90deg bends and run the port down and across for extra length

Ports dont have to be internal wink.gif

2x 6" aeroports for spl tuned to 54hz then cover one up for daily driving will give you a tune around 37hz, a single 6" is plenty for daily

qsaqua- guessing you suggested that on the basis that you read in my sig its goin in the 01 corolla? tuning for 54hz spl what would you expect the car to peak at? I like how you've suggested the option of covering one port for daily use as of course it will be used daily !

drifte.au.. ports dont have to be internal? my first thoughts when you say that is i could have a 10' long port have 5" in side the box and 5" hanging out and it will tune the same as if all 10" of were inside the enclosure? if i am wrong please correct me?

Bingo. If you were to do that you would effectivly halve your port displacement too wink.gif
