Just get an EQ with 2 volt or higher max inupts and you'll be fine. It'll limit the amount of volume adjustments you have but nothing else.

I would be looking at RANE myself.

Are you talking about "Balance Line" voltage of 16V?
Pulse-R
most pro gear should do 16V. that is +24dBV
the Behringer I use will do almost that (+22dBV) as input, but then, who turns up the volume to maximum?
usually the head units output will clip well before it's maximum rated output.

indeed, the eclipse HUs only offer 16V with the balanced line connections, so i presume he wants an EQ with balanced line inputs. otherwise it's just 8V for unbalanced/regular RCA connections.

The zapco EQ30-SL. its a 1/3 octave (30 band eq) has Max Output Level/Balanced: 16 volts

there you go

I think your EQ choice should be based around other factors like the car's inherent frequency response flaws and the choice of band and Q filtering offered more than if it can handle 8VRMS. Just a notch or two down from the 8VRMS output level you'll have 4VRMS, then 2VRMS and so on anyway.

Choose the right EQ for the job, not the voltage level.
