my girlfriend has just started getting into it a bit. She picked up a Nikon D80 the week before last.
I'll have to stir her a bit and get her to put a couple up here. Still playing with it but yeh, she's very keen.

thanks kirk...
it all gets better with practice... i realised for night shots, i
MUST use a tri-pod, and use the "A" setting to adjust the light intake..
and i'm also self taught..

Tripods definately make things easier.
Unfortunately even with a tripod my photos are often blured because of the amount I shake (for those of you who dont know me - i shake like a crack baby) even just pressing the button can be enought to blur the image. Remote and a good flash are my next investments. Though I'm on the lookout for a sub $400 D70s or D80 body only to give to Kel

have you tried setting a timer?
i find that a 2sec timer helps immensely also.... but remote lead is handy!

Yeah but its a PITA on the Nikon. you have to reset the timer each shot. you cant just set it to timer mode and go. Bit like my old Konica-Minolta Z2

I suppose I have more than a passing interest in photography. I have a 30D and just added a couple more lenses to my collection - a Canon EF 70-200mm F4 and a Canon 50mm F1.8 Prime. Both are terrific lenses - I especially like shooting with the 50mm prime, I think every photographer shooting cars should have one!
Here are a couple of more recent shots I've taken:

Mining Sunset
