Hello.
This is my first post here.
I'm a courier with a 2002 Hi-Ace van and the company I work for requires that we have an alarm system installed.
The boss arranged for me to have one fitted yesterday, and it's a Black Widow BW-10,000.
Because I'm in and out of the van constantly I often leave it running and just lock the doors with the normal central locking knob before I get out, and use a spare key to get back in when I come back.
What I discovered yesterday was that the BW-10,000 remote central locking system apparently won't let me lock and unlock the van while the motor is running.
I've had a look through the manual that came with the system but it's very confusing and I can't seem to find any way to enable that option, if indeed it is an option.
So that's my question: can I program the BW-10,000 to allow me to lock and unlock the van using the remote central locking system while the motor is running?
Thank you in advance for any advice.
Regards,
scoopyx.

I recommend you go back to the place where you bought the alarm.
Also, it's illegal to leave the vehicle running while you're not there. $x00's fine if you get caught.

Really? Illegal?
What a crock!
Okay, I'll ring em up and ask em.
Thanx.

Simple answer no it's not possible... Alarm was never designed to work in that way, as if your arming your alarm with the engine running your keys are in the ignition thus locking your keys inside the car...

illegal in a public place I believe.. if you're in a customers driveway or private property (eg customers loading dock, or whatever) you should be alright.

yeah i've also been told that our agency owner doesn't like us to leave our vans running, but i do it when i can see the van while i'm delivering (ie a private house).
