Just wondering how i can do this? As my computer speakers died the other day and i was thinking i could build some small speakers to replace them. They run off a small amp + crossover which which is mounted inside a small 6.5inch subbox and uses a 3.5mm jack to connect the speakers.

use a 3.5mm female plug?

please pose the question in English tongue.gif

basically, you'll need an output from your computer into some sort of amplifier, which then goes to the speakers.

from what i can gather, you want to simply have a 3.5mm plug running from the back into normal speaker wire to run speakers???

if so, that's not going to work

the output from the computer goes to a small amp that is mounted inside a subbox which has a female 3.5mm jack for an output, iwant to know how i can wire up some speakers to a 3.5mm jack if it can be done.

Well its not like you were any help brain surgeon.

There was no need to be rude or insult me. I was after some information, i asked in a f***ed up way that you guys didn't understand me so what! If you don't have anything constructive to say why post?

Is it possible to wire These to this? if so how do i do it? Is what i want to know. This will plug into a amp. Is that a better way to put it?

yeah, you can wire that up.

just, wire it up...

I assume there is two 3.5mm sockets? or is there just one stereo one?

Hey mate!

Sounds like you need a 3.5" to 3.5" male to male cable. BUT to ensure were 100% here, can you please post a photo of the amps input/output(s)?

Cheers. smile.gif

Well now that we know what your actually on about we can help you.

the 3.5mm plug is wired as TRS (tip ring sleeve) you will have to find out which is wired in common on your amplifier and then solder positive to one of the active tabs and one to the common on the other speaker positive to the other active and negitive to the common again.

Other wise your unit may be supplied (as suggested by one of the others) with 2 female 3.5mm sockets - in which case they wil most likely be a mono 3.5 mm plug not stereo.

are you positive the speakers died and its not just the cabel have broken internally?

Personally for what its worth you might as well go buy a set of logitechs and be done with it - or else go all out and buy a decent amp and speaker package. Each to their own

Ok thanks for the help. I have decided i'm gonna go all out, just remembered that i have DVD+5.1channel amp sitting gathering dust so i'll use that and make some decent speakers up for it.

also just found some old speakers from a stereo which will work nicely til i can make up some better ones.
