Hey, Im looking at respraying the valve cover on my Honda Crx.
Ive sanded it back and its ready for paint. Now im just wondering if i could use car paint on the valve cover or just use engine enamel.. I ask this as i cant find an engine enamel that is the red im after while i have a fare bit of car paint that i could use if it was appropriate.
Cheers,
Dave

You should be fine painting your rocker cover with normal car paint.
Just make sure your prep work is done well, preferably get it sand blasted back to bare metal so the new paint adheres everywhere.
When my wife's last car was being restored I had the rocker cover sprayed in the same 2 pack enamel as the rest of the car and it came up a treat.
There were no problems with the paint in an engine bay enviroment (peeling/discoloration/etc) even though it was bright yellow.

When I did the rocker cover on my EL, I used two pack paint, matched to the body. Worked fine, never had any problems with it.
As mentioned, just make sure you're prep work is spot on. And clean, clean, clean.
