Hey guys, I just bought a 1999 Honda Integra, and it doesn't have an alarm. I'm looking at getting a "XS-800S SHIELD Xtreme Auto Protection"

reads like an ebay alarm to me.

what car are you trying to cover and is it for your insurance? if so ask them. they may have a preference.

yeah it is on there too lol

nah its not for insurance, I only have 3rd party anyway, but just need a good alarm at a good price.

I'm looking at getting a viper but installers keep quoting me $200 just for installation sad.gif

A good alarm is only as good as the install.Skimp on the install and even the best alarm will give you problems.

200 bucks sounds like a good price to me; I've never installed an alarm before and I would have to assume there would be some pretty important stuff involved. if you had a crack yourself and stuffed it up, you could do damage to your cars factory wiring... at least with your 200 dollars it will work, and if it doesn't, you don't have to hope that somebody on a forum will know what you're talking about and have a solution for you...

isn't that what net forums are for- giving misinformation so someone can try themselves burn a car down and then panic , post on said forum then be told we told you so.

seriously if you are going to skimp like that tell me and everyone else where you live I'm sure someone could use a newish skyline to thrash and strip.

nah it didnt, the installer did it all today biggrin.gif

i would never try to install an alarm myself anyway, too many mistakes that could happen and burn your whole wiring system

now that alarms done, next stop vtec controller biggrin.gif

$200 isnt bad for installation. Think about it $70 an hour for 3 hours theres $210 and I dont know of many alarm installs that take UNDER 3 hours even with good FAST installers who know what they are doing and who will do a PROFESSIONAL job thats going to actually protect your vehicle.
