Hi,

I am new to the forums, but I've been reading some posts and you seem like a good bunch of guys. I hope this is the right section.
I need some advice with this setup I'm planning.

I need to run 4 RCA's from a soundcard to an amp, and then through to 4 speakers to give me 4.1 sound (I will get a monobloc/sub later down the track). The tricky part is, I need to keep my stock eurovox headunit (no RCA outputs) to still have steering wheel controls, 10-stacker, aerial controls, etc and I want to keep the interior stock.

What amp should I look at getting, that would allow me to run the 4 RCA channels from the soundcard, and also run the headunit 'speaker-level' outputs as well? I only want to spend about $200 - $300.

Any ideas on how I could make this setup work?
Help is much appreciated. Thanks.

you would get a speaker-to-line level converter (most car audio shops have these) and feed the output from the head unit into the AUX-IN of teh sound card. then feed the output of the sound card to your amps/speakers.

Yeah, I though of that but wanted to avoid using the line level converters as I have heard bad things about the resulting sound quality.

I was also thinking about trying to solder some RCA outs from the headunit. (from a point before the signal is amplified inside there).
Anyone tried this?

if the quality of the deck is ok, then a decent quality line level converter will surely please.

What car?
VT and VX eurovox headunits can be modded for rca out.

Thanks guys. Do you know of any high quality line converters so I know what ones to look out for?
Also, it is a VS Statesman. I saw the guide on how to solder rca's to the VT unit, but I'm not sure how different the VS Eurovox would be.

I just found some Alpine ones - $60 each and I need 2. Didn't realise how expensive they were. Anyone used these?
