What for?
I know my exchange isnt ADSL2 enabled and the exchange is provided by Telstra Wholesale

Give them a yell then.

The more calls the make, the more info you get, the more info you get the smarter you become. In no time you WILL BE SO SMART!

Damn, Baxter doesn't even let you get naked... I'm looking at getting naked as we don't get standard ADSL2/2+ in my area.

Komodo, unfortunately ADSL2+ works best only in close range to the exchanges. I have heard of many people getting faster speeds on ADSL1 when the distance (line distance) is over 6km.
~Sparkles~
i'm about 4.1 K's "line distance" from the baxter exchange or about 3.2K's LOS
I'm just the wrong side of the hill and reservior I guess cause "Squid", one of my boilys at work, lives the other side of the reservior and he is on an ADSL2+ exchange.

It pisses me off a little cause I dont care about the speed - 512 is plenty fast enough for me. But ADSL2+ is cheaper by nearly 20% over ADSL1

Admittedly I'd have to switch to a fully featured phone line rather than a budget line.

I am 7.5Km's from my exchange (Cable distance). When I first moved in and was organising my phone, Telstra asked if I wanted broadband. I said yes, then he goes, nope, sorry you are too far from the exchange, would I like ISDN? HAHA No, bye.

So I called Adam Internet and asked if I could have ADSL2. They said they were more than happy to give it a go, but because of the distance said they couldn't guarantee it would work.

So I signed up and have been using them for over 2 years now. I get about 4mbps, which I know is not great, but (a) it's faster than ADSL and (b) it's cheaper than 1.5 ADSL.

So it does work over long distance but you have to have decent cabling back to the exchange (It helps when your old man can look up all the cable plans and check all this for you as well tongue.gif )

im waiting for the exchange near my work to be done, it's only like 1/2 a k away and for what we pay now we get 4 x's the download limit :S
