hello everyone. i need some help.
I am upgrading my midbass to a peerless sls8"
The problem i have is that i need 24 mm spacer of the door skin to clear the magnet.
That easy..................Not!!!
You can see from the pics that it goes back on the top left section. (10oclock)
If i bolt a spacer onto the steal there is a gap in this section.
What can i do, am i able to glass a bass and then just like leg the spacer thing onto it

If there is a space, just jam some closed cell foam in there..

Use one large piece of f**k off MDF to cover the entire door. Seperate the back and front waves to prevent cancellation, use a strong baffle to load off, and you can attach any additional spacers needed onto that.
Add to that, you can get creative (like your new dash piece...) and add door handles, window winders, locks etc. on to that, and have a fully functioning door.

Moddeling clay works well to seal any gaps you may have, otherwise forget the door and build enclosure's into your foot well area, for a rise of 6-7cm in floor level you can get from 10-20litres depending on the car.

mmm.....luke...sounds like fun......but i not think my car will suit midbass in the floor.....mainly cause of the limited space.
also this is the specs from madisound
Box suggestions:
1 to 1.5 cubic feet sealed for F3 of 47Hz
1.6 cubic feet with 3" vent by 6.75" long
F3 of 33Hz, with +2dB bump
1.5cf is 42ltr no way will i get that in the floor let alone the door....ill do my best though....
i not sure if this will suit....damm i got a pain of a car.....why did i choose to do this myself:)

bracing the woofer mounts to the outer panal and surrounding area is the go, Doors dont like low bass hits, u get huge amounts of energy and deadning can only do so much.Your bracing technique should be a disipation setup i reakon.

you mean outta panel as the one that is on the outside of the car. how will i do that...window comes past the magnet......i wont be able to do it right.....i could prob make a ring that bolts onto the door......glass the holes....then glass a pod onto it.....then make the door trim to suite:)

just adding some fuel to the fire mate, but i once saw a guy mount his midbass 8s in sealed boxes in front of the seats pointing up at the window, the car was an award winning vehicle not a slapper, it had a fair amount of custom work done, mainly a modifed fire wall to allow for the factory position of the 4inch mid ranges to take a 6.5 inch driver and enclosure, ill try find the article and read up on it, it was a few years back, and who knows what he was using to get a good tune on this set up. but yeah, award winner so it had to sound ok,true? what do you guys think of that idea and does any one remember the car.....ca&e about 5 yrs ago...

yeah, it has to be user friendly hey, you could get a decent sealed box there tho, if you used the area under the seat and then flared it out to the ring shape, you'd get a big enclosure actually, and would only need to have the actual speaker size out in the open in front of the seat, not a whole enclosure, just some feed back mate, good luck

i also know that PYROAY & cyberpunky had floor mounted midbass's....
bruce's were boxes above the floor, in front of the seats..
while Aaron's were fully moulded boxes into the floor and sat flush..

yeah its definately an option hey, that Aaron is another mad man like you damo, always changing around,lol....ive seen his car in a few diffrent stages and yeah the mids flush mounted in the floor made me look twice...
veiwed ur vs install last night, all 20+ pages,lol...your crazy man..hehe..
so what do you think of the underseat box, you can wak your speakers there too see how intrusive they will be but i think they would be ok, you could go as far back with the enclosure as the rear seats foot area, itll just be like a raised floor in there, could get an easy 10ltrs doing it that way, just sharing some ideas mate, if your positive on the doors, im not sure how you would get them in and looking neat....

For what it's worth, you the SLS should (theoretically) work well in 26L if filled heavilly with dacron.
It doesn't work in every scenario, but based on the way it modells out, I think it will work here.
Whether you have 26L available is another story though...
