hey guys im just wondering what are your thoughts on jay car alarms im thinking of getting one im just after a basic alarm nothing fancy jay car has one for 100bucks its just going into a honda civic ek

IMO - crap.

Really basic cheaply made alarm.

You get what you pay for

Depends on what you want... If your not after all the flashy features then basic car alarms are ok... just beware of cheapie brands... I'd try to stay with known brands eg. Cyclops has been around for ages and if you break or lose a remote you can buy another one quite easily.... also if you want it for insurance you have to check what ur insurance company wants from the alarm normally aust standands approved meaning black wiring... i made a mistake when i got mine we had a older model on the shelf i got it for 60 bux i cannot turn off autoarm pain in the ass when i'm in the lanes as it always arms at about 15secs into my run.. i havn't set it off in a comp yet but have done many times in testing...

2ndly when i was in there the other day i say a brand STEAL MATE... Is this the kind of brand of alarm you would want to put in your car??
