Hi everyone,

This is my first post on MEA smile.gif

Anyway, I'm Jose and I'm about to install a new audio system in my car (1997 Toyota Soarer w/ single turbo 1J). The factory system is a single CD player with twin amps to run the front speakers/tweeters, rear speakers and woofer on the rear parcel shelf. This set-up sounds fine to me, and therefore not looking for an super nuts system, just something that will actually play CDs instead of spitting them out.

So far I have the following to go into the car...
  • Kenwood 2DIN DVD/GPS head unit
  • Kenwood 4ch amplifier
  • MTX 4" splits for front
  • Kenwood 4" full range for rear
As of yet I don't have a subwoofer as I'm still thinking of going for either a freeair sub (like the original) or go for 2 slim subs for the trunk and make a simple boot install (along with another amp to run the subs). I'm also still thinking if I should run the factory speakers (if possible, since my amp can be used on 2 Ohm) from the Kenwood amp and have the gains turned down as not to blow the crap out of the speakers (if I was to go this way I'd be running the OEM front speakers and bridge the rears for the woofer).

Anyway, I hope to figure out how I'm going to go about this sometime tonight as I'm reserving tomorrow for the install (along with helping a mate to install a new system in his Aristo). If anyone has suggestions of which road to take in regards to the Kenwood amp to OEM speakers (or if I might as well use the MTX's and Kenwood's) it'd be much appreciated.

Cheers

Jose
