what frequency should i tune my dd 6.5inch woofers (200wrms) to? I have a 15inch sub tuned to 32Hz already and front splits in the doors.

also, should i put a crossover on them after putting them in the ported box?

(they are in the rear of the car)

thanks

What exactly are you trying to achieve with this system you should not need 6.5in subs in a ported boxes aswell as a 15in. Infact you could get worse results than just the 15 and the front splits

I think with a 15" sub, that you would be better to have 8" woofers, rather than 6.5".

Even a 12" or 2 10" subs it's better to have 8" midbass woofers.

6.5" would be fine for mid bass

All depends on the Xmax really. If you've got a 10mm one way xmax on a 6.5", I suppose it'll do. tongue.gif

6.5" should never be 'fine' for midbass. Too small, too much distortion, too much effort required by the driver.

7.5" to 8" should really be minimum. Either that, or dual 6.5s.

Yeah I was kinda hinting at that.

Well, one good 6.5inch midbass that comes to mind would be that from the Focal Be set smile.gif

Also, with a 15inch sub, ported to 32hz, I dont really think SQ is what you are after.
tuneman
um whats wrong with that?

I would play a good selection of your music in testing.
Hp your 6.5 woofer a little bit higher than what u know u can get away with, then volume up the woofer with your test music, take your time lowering the HP filter , even if its over a weeks test time.Your looking for the nicest sounding midbass u can get at your volume up without the woofer loosing composure. Then simply LP the 15" to suit.
