google PDF995
They have a free version which I use - dont do that much PDF conversions and I can put up with an ad for the amount that I use it
Other wise if its for work - tell em to fork out for the full version - or get adobe
You can also generate them on line via adobe

I read that wrong initally too, i think what he actually wants is some OCR (Optical Character Recognition)software. I don't know of any free ones?

Ahhhhh.
Thanks Sig - makes sense now.
GOOD OCR costs money - and is worth it if you use it a lot. If not the cheaper ones aren't worth the hassle - they make so many mistakes and leave blank spaces where they cant work it out that its faster to actually retype it out.

im in a distribution place
and what happens is that when we send out magazines and journals
i get emailed in pdf of what the flysheets look like(where your address goes onto)
then i have to print them out
then put it back into the printer
and type the adresses onto each one
i would like a program that i dont have do that
ie: pdf ---> word ---> printer
im not good at nerdy stuff
so i dont think im explaing this right

If you convert the "flysheet" to jpg you could (in theory at least) use it as a template in word for your address book.

Or find yourself a copy of PDF writer which allows you to edit the PDF.

can i mail merge before printing on a pdf?
ike you can on a word document?
Fudd
Jul 7 2008, 04:06 PM
why not just print out X amont of the pages, load them up and then do the merge so it prints each on automaticly?
like having ready printed letter heads?

thats what i am doing now
when you have 200+ to print
and you have to triple handle the paper
thats the step i want to eliminate
~Sparkles~
Jul 7 2008, 05:14 PM
man quit your bitching - get another printer and only use it for doing the mail merge.
We have different draws in our printers loaded with letter heads to do essentially the same thing

but your pretty much going to add a new step into it, thats sitting there for 78 hours converting all your pdf's..
i think i rather print the pages out, slap em back in the machine and go for it.
or buy a real printer

its just one flysheet that i have to print out most times over 500 copies
then back into the printer and add the addresses to them
i would like to do this in one step
~Sparkles~

Why dont you get a proper printing service to print the blank flysheets - most likely going to be cheaper and you'll probably get better quality paper and you wont have issues with it causing paper jambs etc.
Honestly blanky your probably creating more work than your saving.
