I am working on a few finishing trim panels, and I need to know is there a clear resin, that I can use, that will not discolour paper/fabric that has say ink on it?? (Think US currency) I imagine it would be similar resin to what is used on carbon, but I am not sure.

Anyone??
sean
What is it being used for? Some epoxy is clear and sandable...
TEGBOY
Won't be sanded, its just to cover the greenbacks.

I am thinking it will be some form of epoxy that I need to use.
sean
There is Araldyte 'Ultra Clear' at most hardware places. Maybe try it on a scrap of something first.

+1 to this but more specifically wood working glue. In particular Selleys Aquadhere. Brush it on, not too thick or thin, goes on white dries out clear. Done it many times before for art projects!

Spotlight has a clear craft resin. comes in two equal parts from memory
jas
ive been told surf board resin for cabon fibre that is exposed to light. Standard resin is meant to turn yellow in sunlight.

Isn't the epoxy that is used for Carbon any good, it dries clear... might have to try it on something first thou to see if it will screw the ink up...

Phil

No
its very different

cant remember off the top of my head
but if you put too much surfboard resin in a solid batch
you will end up with micro bubbles that can wreck an entire piece
this stuff has a special catalyst that you add with it

i will try to get incontact with my supplier for an update on this
