Well old set-up went with the car so I'm now looking for some new things. Now have a vz commodore.
Atm i have a Kicker L7 12" Dual Voice Coil and a 2chan JBL amp that will run the sub.
Looking at splits for the front, coax for the rear, headunit with ipod and 2/3 RCA, and either another 2 chan amp for the splits or a 4chan amp for the splits and sub. Also need power and rca wires.
Show me what you got please.

i think you should look into buying a mono for that sub, just a heads up.. unless its a pretty beasty 2 channel amp haha
You need to put up some info such as price range, brand names you were looking at.. etc..
You should try posting in the helping forums if you're not sure on what you're wanting and looking at spending to get that.

I'm open to all reasonable prices for just an average system. Not looking for anything too special. It ran off the amp i have for about 5 months in my brother's car and its held up fine. If there's a good mono for sale though i'll take it and use the 2chan for splits.

Does anyone have a 2chan or mono that would be suitable for the sub?

what voice coils does the Kicker Sub have?

I got a Alpine 9853R HU, but no iPod adapter but there easily had. Ill let it go for a reasonable price also. Pm me if your interested.

I can offload the A/D/S/ splits in my sig, I just bought a set of Morel Elates.

They are a few years old now but original retail was $1200+ I believe, the crossovers weigh a tonne and are about A5 size. Nice speakers but technically I don't even own one car let alone two. I'll sell for $350. They are still in car if you want to listen to them.

Thinking of just going a 4 chan amp for the splits and sub. Something like the 4x100 jaycar. Has to be able to run the kicker dual voice coil sub (think at 4ohm).
I'm looking at spending ~$250ish on the splits but if i save money on HU and amp i'll put it towards this.
Unless some wiring is available i will probably also just buy a wiring kit from strathfield/ryda. Also need sound deadening for doors and possibly boot.

I have an as-new in box with everything Pioneer DEH-P4050UB head unit I'll get rid of. It your's for $180. I paid $270 for it just over a month ago and I am upgrading to a car computer so I won't need it. They retail for $400. It is an awesome unit, 3 pre-outs, 4v pre-outs, has all the fruit, organic OEL blue display thats crystal clear, brushed aluminium face... IPOD cable hasn't even been taken out of the packaging, comes with usb extension cable which I had mounted in my glovebox for my external hard drive, remote control. These decks are easy to use and once you go usb you never go back. I'll never get another CD only player again!



If you are interested I can send you pictures of the item next to my laptop with my username logged into this site. If postage is a problem, if you cover the freight costs there and back as a deposit I'll also send it COD too for the amount remaining after the deposit. This deck is better than anything else you will get on the market for that price. I gotta somehow get rid of the E39 pocket I paid $70 for too as there is going to be a 13" touchscreen in it's place =( Cheap wiring kit from the shop is probably your best bet, as far as the amp goes check out the for sale section on the site here.

This is a very nice amp, and runs my Polk 6.5"s and Dynaudio tweeters very nicely in active (it has the ability to run bandpass as well as normal filters).

no problem mate, although I would rather have a better quality amp that is like new, than a new medium quality amp

I have to agree with Shizzle
To get a new amp at the same quality of a good 2nd hand amp you will be paying up to and around double the price

haha i know i know... very aware of that.

just so far i've got 2nd hand headunit and splits off here and a 2nd hand sub from my brother... just feel its a bit risky having every component 2nd hand because if something goes wrong then i'm out of pocket as theres no warranty or return, especially with items interstate as it just becomes too hard to deal with it.
