Hey guys, when i bought the car it had an aftermarket alarm system in it, Dont know what brand or anything, the only thing it said on the original Remote which allowed me to Remote Start the car had a logo called " MANNIX ".

Now that funky looking remote, ive lost it. And just left with this second remote, rather plain looking, but it worked fine for a week after i lost the original one.

Now suddenly it doesnt even want to lock my car or open it anymore?

I thought the battery was dead, but changed that aswell. Still no luck, sometimes it might arm it, dis arm it.. same cycle 4 times. Then stop working again.

I have no idea whats wrong with it, and hate to leave my car un alarmed. My immoboliser still works though, it comes on automatically after 1 minute. And that has a seperate plastic key thing to disarm the immoboliser.

Now, i dont know what to do.

Can anyone help. sad.gif

The brain of the alarm thing is near my steering column, what do the 2 dials on the box thing do ?

Sounds like it was an eBay alarm. Not sure if there is a distributor in Australia for Mannix?

Might be a remove, and refit a new alarm job.

The only thing I can find on Mannix in Australia is a previous thread here on MEA.

Yeah i kinda' figured, i ran a search and found that Post.

Seems like i might need to get a new alarm system for the R34.

Looking at Viper i guess, with remote start.

hmm.

Alaskan Aussie
I've been installing Vipers for awhile now and I swear by them. The new Viper Responder LE 5701 (Is that available in Australia yet?) is an INSANE alarm/remote start. It has no fancy LCD screen but it responds via leds and tones on the keyfob. Struth, here in Alaska if the weather drops below 0c and I autostart the car it automatically switches on my heated seats, heated steering wheel, rear demister and my windshield wiper de-icer. I can then check my cabin temperature via the keyfob and see if my car is still a refrigerator.....oh yeah, it also obviously turns on my climate control. But also, I have a nasty habit of leaving my stereo cranked when I switch off the car....well, it doesn't power that up until I put the key in the ignition.

Some other things it does...I can program it to automatically start the car up if my voltage falls below a certain point or themperature reaches a certain point. Pretty neat eh? I no longer worry about my battery state when I'm at BBQs and my car is the stereo.

Can you tell I'm a fan of Viper?
