Weird... Someone must have reported the site as being malicious or something.

MSY must have ripped someone off and they paid them back by putting a virus on their site tongue.gif

MSY service is the worst in the world. If their prices wernt SOOOO much cheaper I would never go back.

Last time I was there I wanted to get a motherboard which had coax or optic audio output but their site had that virus thing so I thought id just go in and ask them which motherboard had what I wanted. The guy I asked said that they have one or two but he didnt know which model it was exactly. Then he said to me "You should have done your research before you came here..." (Quite rudely I might add).

I said "Your "F%#Kn website is infected so how am I suppose to know what stock you carry"?

That shut him up smile.gif Teaches him to be rude to me...
~Sparkles~
Man they have an email order service - you email what you want and they confirm with a price and ask if you want ot go a head then you just go in and pick it up at the pre arranged time.
I have to agree with him though - you should have done you research. You should have known which MoBos have coax or optical out that you wanted.

I tell people all the time to piss off and come back to me when they know what they want. I'm not running a design service and MSY have signs up everywhere stating that they wont help you decide what to buy it up to you to research.

He's crunching about 10k turnover every hour do you really think he needs your business to waste his time choosing/searching for what you want. If you want that kind of service go head somewhere else that charges more for that service.

Sorry dude but thats the blunt fact of the matter. I see people on heaps of forums whinging about the service at MSY - hell if i want service I'll go to "computer world" where they give me a comfy chair to sit in while they go through what I want (and make suggestions if I am unsure) and get all the parts for me - but I have to pay an additional 15-20% for that luxury thats why I do my research first and go to MSY (or now I email them my order and pick it up - to easy!).

Use this website instead -

http://msy.arpatubes.net

Easier on the eye, same prices, can search it.

the msy.arpatubes.net site ftw

only trouble is....i got used to the placement of the items on the pdf page sad.gif
Moey
So I am suppose to research every motherboard there is and hope that they have the motherboard that I want?

I always do my research before I go there but since their site was infected how was I suppose to do this???

Also, I didnt go off at him because he wouldnt check if they had what I wanted. I went off at him because he was being rude!
enzo
1) go to www.umart.com.au
2) look at their semi-respectable website, should tell you what you need
3) hit www.staticice.com.au to find cheapest prices, my bet is MSY will come up in the top 5-10
4) call them to see if they've the product in stock

MSY is NOT a store you go in and ask 'which one should i get', expecting to get help.

......sorry...seems you've already been informed this lol.

PS: knowing you need 'a' motherboard, doesn't count as having done research.

OCAU

Is a good site for any advice you want. From Overclocking gear to media center gear.

MSY are not computer technicians they just sell the product. Staticice always shows if MSY has the product so you should have no problems. If you ever need advice or something give me a pm and i'd be glad to help. And that goes for anyone else smile.gif

Im sure many people here have experienced the rudeness of the employees of MSY...

I'd probably get sick of people ****ing around with stupid questions expecting a computer built to their specifications after explaining what they're after too, when it's simply not what you're there for.
Stone
Even at CPL, I get sick of people in the queue in front of me asking a million questions... Know what you want before you go or buy from Harvey Norman.
SupremeMoFo
Exactly... no excuse for not knowing crap these days IMO.
Moey
I am not arguing the fact that I should have known what I wanted, because I should have. What I am arguing is the fact that he shouldnt be rude about it.

From what you are saying, he has the right to be rude?
~Sparkles~
Pretty much.

If you think he's rude you definately dont want to deal with me - or worse still my boss. I tell clients worth millions of dollars a year to us to go f**k themselves all the time. Its not worth the hassle of kissing everyones ass. If I did everything for everyone that is asked of me I'd never get anything productive done. Its simple economics. Spend 15 minutes with one customer helping them choose a $150 motherboard or spend that 15 minutes serving 5 customers spending between $100 - 500 each. As a boss I know which I'd preffer my workers do and if that involves telling a few people to piss off then so be it.
He probably has 20 people every hour asking him which motherboard would be best for them and he is probably jack of it - its not what he is there for.
Moey
Ok then. End of discussion.

Outcome: People have the right to be rude rather then spend a couple minutes to help someone out. (it wouldnt have taken longer than that)
D34M0N
Good to see you learnt a lesson there just trading cash for product and with the amount of people that go thrue them everyday they can afford to be rude lol. Ask elsewere first then you can go direct bam i want a Asus Maximus Fomula Motherboard have you got it in stock...yes......ok i will grab that.....exchange money for item......Done.
