Found this on another forum. Look at the claims. Not sure how much truth is in it but thought I'd throw it out there for you guys to decide.

Well since it uses the same board as Soundstream XXX15000d and possibly the Cactus Sounds ELT.12 I thought I'd paste up this quote I found on another forum.

QUOTE
XXX-15000D

Since the 80s, manufacturers have been doing anything they can to generate new hype to sell their amplifiers. Super low impedance stability, over rating, under rating, birth certificates, etc… Until recently, there was no adopted standard for power specifications. Even now, there are ways to cheat the system. When you have a badass product, you don't need to play these games!

Our newest and largest amplifier we've ever built is the XXX-15000D! Appropriately rated, this beast will live up to its name. So why did we make such a huge amplifier? Because there are psychos out there that want it, that's why! Plus, it is cost effective and easier to run a single 15k amp than it is to run (3) 5k amps, (6) 2.5k amps or even (15) 1k amps!

It takes power to make power, so plan on having a strong power supply if you want to be able to use the XXX-15000D to its full potential! This is critical! The rail voltage is +/- 140 volts and we use all “N” Channel MOSFETS. While the amp is 78% efficient, at full power, it can draw up to 1400 amps. Idle current draws a mere 8 amps. You can feed the amp with a 6 volt signal input. The damping factor is >1000 at 100Hz. The PWM module is separated to avoid noise. Just to keep the board stable and structurally sound, we had to use a 2.5mm thick PCB which is 57% thicker than the typical 1.6mm PCB. So, what does the behemoth weigh you might ask? Over 83 pounds! That heavier than most SPL monster subwoofers.
This amp was specifically designed to run at 16 volts for the hardcore SPL competitor. Running the amp at lower voltages will result in less power. With a typical 14.4 volt power supply and powering a 1 ohm load, the monster yields 13kW at 1% THD and

14.8kW at 5%! For the serious competitor with a 16 volt system, the power increases to 14.4kW at 1% THD, 16.4kW at 5% and even up to 19kW at 10% for the guy who doesn't give a crap about sound quality and only needs sheer power!

Other features include 4x 1/0gauge “+” inputs, 4x 1/0gauge “-” inputs, 2x 8gauge remote inputs, and 4 pairs of 8gauge speaker outputs. The subsonic filter is variable from 10Hz-50Hz. The bass boost from 40Hz-120Hz is variable up to 18dB. Low-pass crossover duties are also variable from 35Hz-250Hz.

The XXX-15000D is the most powerful amplifier on the market. But that doesn't mean it has to be ugly. Proud owners can use either the steel bottom or the supplied Plexiglass bottom to show off the intensity of amp guts. So, how big is it? 12-11/ 16” wide, 2-11/ 16” high, and 32-11/ 16” long. Heck, I could surf on this thing! If you think this is a bunch of BS hype and you gotta pair, go try one out for yourself. But don't call us when your skull crushes! One more thing for the competitor with a bolt loose – ear protection doesn't help if your lungs explode and your eyes launch out of your head like rockets! Be smart and use wisely

Hudge amps are hudge! lol

me thinks the HERTZ amp doesnt have enough cable imputs to power it to 15,000wrms.

the XXX15000D has 4 pos and 4 neg 0awg imputs.

the HERTZ amp only has 2 pos and 2 neg 0awg imputs.

at full tilt 15,000wrms 2 positives and 2 negatives wont cut it IMO.

still a nice looking amp inside. be intersting to see how it does go.
Charger
Here's the terminals of the same amp, badged as a Cactus Sounds. The terminals are one of the best layouts I've seen. Both positives next to each other and both negatives next to each other. And four pairs of power inputs, hell yeah!

And here's the Soundstream which I presume is the same. Check out the amount of copper inside, I bet this sucker ain't cheap!!

FreQuence
I'm a retard when it comes to this kind of maths, but what would the current draw be @ 18kw rms? 1000+ amps?
Charger
From what I read from the Soundstream article:

QUOTE
While the amp is 78% efficient, at full power, it can draw up to 1400 amps. Idle current draws a mere 8 amps.

Could probably draw more though I reckon.
Pulse-R
"... up to 1400A peak current draw..."

lol

now where to get 15kW of subwoofers...
Billy 79
prob for full 18000wrms constant. i'd take a pretty close guss of 1800amps. of current draw.

if a Z1A at .25ohm draw 600+ amps for 6000+wrms

and a Z2LV draw over 800amps for 8600wrms.

my guess would be the HERTZ and XXX15000D would need some 1500+amps of current going into it during a full tilt burp.
one serious battery bank and most certainly big cabe definately bigger then 0awg anyway

but will never know for sure what the current draw is on those amps, until someone tests them with a clamp meter so can see the current draw and the RMS the amp was putting out also.

They'd probably be at home in a car such as this, SS 1-2

Found some new info on the official Hertz web page today about the new Hertz SPL amp MP15k.

http://www.hertzaudiovideo.com/default_en.htm

This thing looks huge! No info on pricing or release dates though.

RMA
Regarding the new Hertz MP15K Amplifier, I would like to point out that this amplifier is NOT a re badged Sound stream, CACTUS or any other brand as some would suggest.
Full details will be released in the very near future.

For those that have voiced their opinion about what it will or won't do, the simple answer is all Elettromedia product is power rated using the accepted industry standards.

If we say it will deliver a certain power figure, it will deliver that!

Further details as available.

You must admit there is a striking resemblence between the boards, yes?

Resemblance Yes. Same board, No.

The matter was actually raised with Elettromedia USA's manager Larry Penn here in Melbourne last week.

But at the end of the day aren't we all just wanting a good strong SPL scene?

These new products from Hertz should help that along.
Charger
There's no doubt they will be killer amps. If they are priced competitively I'm sure they'll get a huge following!
