Hi All
Well It is my wedding in less than 5 weeks and I have realised I need to get a gift for my soon to be bride. The problem is I have no idea what to get. I know this is a long shot but can anyone make any suggestions. Please only sensible suggestions required and I dont really want to gte jewellery. I wanted to get her something a bit different.
I realise this might not quite be the best place for such a question, but hey I cant think of anything and surely there are a couple of romantics out there.
let the ideas roll in

hmmmm...
have you thought about something simple...
a small gold ring often works wonders in this situation

otherwise, what about one of those new Audison Thesis amps?

What is her favourite food?
Seriously, chocolate? Ice-cream? etc... find out what it is and have a pro-chef or caterer come and bring it to the house in an 'out-there' way...
E.G. 2 years ago, my brother knew his (soo to be wife, then gf) loves soft-serve ice-cream, aka Mr Wippy. So for her birthday he negotiated with a Mr Wippy van owner to come to the house, in the middle of the evening, drove to the house into the back yard and made ice-cream just for her... she was blown away, still talks about it to this day.
Now it cost my brother $350, but he says it was worht it, for $2 ice-cream.
So I suggest you think about application of something similar like that, but that appeals to your wife...

get your wife a puppy dog.
something you both can enjoy when you live together as husband and wife.
she would go "goo goo gaa gaa" troppo over it.
if not you can get her 2 gifts.
a pair of moccasins and a vibrator.
if she don't like the moccasins she can go fu(k herself!!!!!!
geez thats an old one but i still love it.

GOOD LUCK

after the wedding, take her to the motel, and give her a mouthfull of love

but seriously, what the f***?
after the $1000's that a wedding already costs, who wants to spend even more on presents each :| i thought the whole getting married thing was present enough.
but the puppy sounds good

Puppy or Kitten I say - at least it'll keep her off your back about kids for a while.

Funny you should say that. The same day we got back from our h/moon in Malaysia, we went and picked up a kitten from the rspca in burwood.
One month later the little bugger tried to catch a truck with his teeth.
Two weeks later, I got talked into getting TWO kittens - her reasoning being 'incase one of them gets run over'

Now, the baby's due in December. And we still have two cats.

Well my idea would be something along the lines of 7 days of gifts in the week leading up to the wedding, nothing big just little things, a box of chocalates one day, some flowers the next, some frilly knickers the next, they don't have to be very elaborate all out things, just simple little things that are given with some meaning and given with nice little notes, and maybe things that may have some sort of connection to memorable moments in your relationship etc...
Or just jewellery, I know you weren't keen on that, but my missus is on a wedding forum (my weddings on the 6th sept), and I searched in there for ideas for you, and all the women in the threads I found were going ga ga over jewellery.

haha, oh, hahaha. ^^ oh, i ROFL'd.
Get over yourself buddy, just because in 10 years when you actually mature and realize that when you find a woman you love you want to nice things to impress her/express yourself, you'll come back here to get ideas, is no reason to trash another person's efforts. Luke's 100 times the man you are for just posting that idea up, so grow some balls and accept the fact that real men show emotions and express their feelings.
If I were a moderator I'd have banned you already for the crap you put all over this board. I wish someone would already.

it was in good humor, your the only one idiotic enough not te realise it. I'm sure if the OP didn't appreciate it he would have let them know, hardly your place to comment, or do you just have trouble keeping your mouth shut all the time.

ha ha, sorry havent had a chance to reply yet
a pet was out of the question as we only rent an apartment.
What appealed to me was an idea to name a star, but then did some research and discovered you are just paying $200 for a certificate, so I have decided I will pick my own star, and make my own certificate, will mean just as much

next, we are reading a reading to each other during the ceremnoy so I am thinking I will probably get a copy of the one I am going to read all framed and looking good.
now I just need to actually get my act together and organise it.
not long to go now only 3 weeks

Bride seats I'm telling you...
Pets are a bad gift idea.. Ask anyone who's worked for the RSPCA or local vet..
http://www.paw-rescue.org/PAW/PETTIPS/DogTip_giftpet.phpIf she doesnt have a dog/kitten/spider now, there's a reason. Who will feed it on your honeymoon ? Who will walk it ? Who will pick up its crap from the backyard ?
