SirNemesis
Have you tried power-cycling your modem router? Have you noticed any other websites causing issues?
Fudd
yeah tried that.

i did have some internet/modem troubles the other day, had to replace the modem.

but this seems to be the only site i have problems with sad.gif
i need to download a new copy of a program (mine as gone corrupted sad.gif )

The document contains no data.

The network link was interrupted while negotiating a connection. Please try again."

Try turning off any active Firewalls, also the Flash Player installed on your PC could be installed but playing up, the website requires it. What do you need? I'll add links to some external sites, even though that's probably what you're not after?

I had this issue a little while ago - is it on all your PCs or just one?

I ended up having to check my DNS settings - one PC was set to the ISP's DNS the rest were set to look to the router for DNS resolution (or maybe it was the other way around)

Any way when we changed the routers the new one had a different local IP strange thing was most sites worked (ie this and other frequently visited sites) - it was only things like google that didnt work.
Fudd
i got a feeling it's out IP settings here..
the real IT guy is gunna sort it out on the weekend

need to DL adobe Indesign CS3

i corupted a file on it and now it wont work.. and wont uninstall sad.gif
SirNemesis
Are you able to trying pinging www.adobe.com? You should get a reply from 192.150.18.101.
Fudd
comes up wioth "destination host unreachable"

hmmm
~Sparkles~
sucks for you
SirNemesis
Does it display an IP address when it says destination host unreachable? If so, what is it? If it displays the IP I mentioned before, you have a routing issue which should be taken up with your I.T. If you get a different IP address you have a DNS problem.

Who is your ISP?
Fudd
i think its a DNS problem, out ip address's are all screwed.

ill get out IT guy to look at it on the weekend when no one is here.

ISP is chariot.

but there getting the arse very soon..

boss's wanna go to bigpong rolleyes.gif
SirNemesis
One of the guys I work with is the ex-chariot manager and he has shared some stories with me, so I wouldn't be suprised if it was a problem at their end. Tell your boss to go Telstra Internet Direct if he actually wants the service to be trouble-free, or Westnet are good if budget is more of a concern. smile.gif
~Sparkles~
You guys using static or dynamic IP addresses?
DNS settings in the router and local machines??
DHCP settings?
Fudd
ok still having issues sad.gif

using dynamic IP and DHCP server.

In your C drive, try going to windows > system32 > drivers > etc folder, and open up the hosts file, and add in this:

QUOTE
www.adobe.com 192.150.18.101
www.adobe.com 192.150.18.101
adobe.com 192.150.18.101
adobe.com 192.150.18.101

If using vista, you might have to change the files permissions to full control for the user your logged in as.
Fudd
nope still didnt work sad.gif
~Sparkles~
sucks to be you - i thought you called in the experts
Fudd
i thought i did to, seems more like he is avoiding me now!

Can you ping or nslookup either adobe.com or www.adobe.com from the command prompt?
