Gday!

i have made my own box today for my new sub, tonight im going to carpet it,
i dont know if i should mount the sub on top of the carpet (screw sub>carpet>mdf) or cut the carpet around the sub hole so the sub it attached direct to the MDF to keep it airtight.......would it make much difference?

same situation with my speaker terminals.....

and tips would be appreciated (just waiting for the sealant to dry now)

Thanks heaps

should not leak thru the carpet. Just use some nice wood screws and it will make its own seal

it will depend on the carpet.

just try it and see, you're going to have to carpet the whole box before you cut out for the sub anyway.

rubber seal will aid in the seal
bunnings has stick on closed cell strips that u can use , just stick it on the metal sub basket , i am assuming u dont have a sub gasket for the sub.

i have a focal 33kx sub which came with rubbery foamy surround tape is that what you mean?
so mdf > carpet > sub foamy tape > sub got it!
