Definitely the Boston, even if the prices were the other way around.
Will hold it's resale value better and is built and finished to a superior standard. Overall performance "could" be deemed better as well.

i agree that boston takes the cake here. for all the same reasons as stated by winno

So tell me guys, where does the Rockford Fosgate P4004 suffer in terms of build quality or reputation? I have found this series of amplifier to be of excellent standard and RF's reputation has, frankly, always been second to none. They've certainly been engineering and building amplifiers of the highest level for many more years than Boston Acoustics have.

This is in no way a slur on BA, by the way. I like the Boston amps. I'm just curious how RF lots its reputation. They were considered one of the best amp manufacturers in the world in the '90s and I reckon the current Punch amps are the best yet.

Not to say there aren't better for the money, but still...

where could you get the boston gt40 that cheap?
Pik0
From a mate who has to much money to spend and gets tired of his toys very quickly... so he keeps getting new stuff...

Problem is with splits he buys **** like Z6's and even selling them cheap ($1k) i just cant afford that...
Winno
Does he want a new, additional friend?

I agree with Damon that the current range of RF amps are better than previous models they have produced. I remember getting them into the shop, wiring them up to our comparitor and being pleasantly surprised at what came out of them.
Their build quality is good but still not to the same standard of finish of the Boston.
Some people would also say that there is a degree of prestige that comes with a Boston product that just simply does not come with RF Punch product.

I must admit that whilst I bought my amps based on their percieved performance, I also get a warm fuzzie when I think about actually owning them. I guess you call that part of the whole package.
