Hey Fudd, I've had a wii for a few months, but haven't even thought of modding it yet.

What does it give you in the wii?

I had a Wiimote bluetoothed to a PC a while ago.

get a tired arm after a while trying to play Crysis though.

connection issues intermittently meant I gave up in the end.

maybe when the drivers mature a bit more

the Homebrew channel gives you n64 and gamecube emulators (so you can just play rom's) also people have designed homebrew games

also you can put programs on to use it as a dvd player, put linux on it, put proper web browsers on it etc etc.

my chip didnt come today, might have placed the order to late yesterday, so hopefully ill have it stripped down tomorrow night and have the new chip in.

Got both ds and wii chipped.
Wiichip: best money spent. At home, we have every game for Wii that came out before may this year. Just need to go to these big LAN parties held at the different unis.
Be careful aquiring ds roms of the net, plenty of "dodgy" dodgy sites (dont try this at work)

i should come see you and get some ummm backups :|

hahaha i still need to go buy a micoSD card for the DS one. i used to have heaps of the damn things and gave them away sad.gif

I have a wii and a ds, I didnt bother with a DS chip i just bought an R4, And you can now run homebrew and dvds etc on the wii without a mod chip.
Fudd
yeah you can run homebrew without the chip, but you need to do the zelda hack.

no one i know has an origional copy of zelda and im not going to go buy one.
cheeper for me to buy the chip and do it that way tongue.gif

Installed the chip last night.
was pretty straight forward, opend up the unit, cliped it in, done smile.gif

homebrew installed easy as, still need to install app's for it.

got one slight problem, when i put the case back on there is a tight spot somewhere making the dvd drive not accept disc's, but once the top case is off it's fine.

need to pull it apart again tonight and fix :S

I have a Wii as well, Its chipped with the Wiikey, Playing around with the zelda hack at the moment. A good web site is wiihacks.com
Fudd
i didnt need to worry about the zelda hacks with mine, the chip override it and let me install homebrew easy as.

just need to find a decent app to run on it
