You will have to talk to telstra about it and they will tell you what you have to do

Normally costs an additional $5 per month from memory.
Do Not Call list is free though. I'd got the do not call list a go first and then if your still having issues then go full unlisted number. You can also prevent your number being sent when calling call centres and stuff (and thus prevents then taking your number to hand on) by dialing a 4 digit code (again this is from memory) Other wise Kel had I have a land line but the handsets are turned on silent and every one knows to call us on our mobiles we only have the land line for emergencies (ie dialing a cab or 000 having a land line means they can send someone to your place without needing you to give over your address) and for ADSL.

the 4 digit code Sparkles is thinking of is 1831
I used to work for Amart Allsports, we used the 1831 before calling Rebel Sports to do price matches

I didn't think it was as costly as $5? Maybe around $3, or it used to be.
If i remember right, that four digit code is 1831. Someone try it and tell us.

Our home phone is a silent number.
We are with Telstra and it costs us an extra $2.93 a month for the service.

1831 it is, it also works on your mobile if you dont want to turn it on silent in settings. Its also good for numbers stored in your mobile where you always want to keep your number hidden from. Just put 1831 in front of the number when your store the number and everytime you call it from your contacts it will be silent.

Ahhh yeah good idea.
Actually people with nokias (i dont know if other phones can do it) can do things like automatically enter their selections.
For example calling one of my suppliers i have to dial the 10 digit phone number. Then dial 3 for sales then dial 115 for my reps extension so its stored in my phone as 039555****pp3p115 to put the p (pauses) in you press the * key 3 times. Works a treat gets me connected to my rep with one button (as its stored as a speed dial)
