I know shiny has one. Good luck in the search though, you'll need it, they are rarer that your processor
IMO just go for something like a 9965E, DVD playback and can control the PXA.

I don't like the glide touch on the 9965

And Shiny wouldn't sell his for all the money in the world

Will probably end up with a W502 double din screen if i cant find one.

I got a user manual and service manual for the 7990 - you could build one from scratch using the circuit diagrams, or get alpine to supply all the spare parts...

Just out of interest give Juerg a call at Auto Accoustics a call, he mite have a second hand unit as he did a fair bit of F1 Status install work, he's now moved and is in St.Peter's in Sydney.

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/alpine-f1-7990_W0QQ...idZp1638Q2em124i haven't quite worked out what country it's from (!), but it's an option. looks like a Jap version (ie: 7990J); not sure if that's an issue. buttons are in 'english', but worth checking the display is too.

$3500 NZD is WAAAAAAAY overpriced.
Definately not prepared to splash out that much just for a transport, however pretty it may look...
But thanks for letting me know

hardly. if its for a new unit, nzd 3500 = Aud3100
the one in
poland is PLN3500 = AUD2000.
overpriced, but not THAT far overpriced....

i think you'd have to
really want it for AUS$3K, but i suppose that's what F1 is about. it's hard to put a value on it - cos if you want it and can afford it, you'd pay it. would be awesome if it was $1K, but that's unrealistic.
given they retailed for AUS$3999, a price of $3K suggests it is holding value very well. but again, 'good value' or 'overpriced'. glass half-full or half-empty? just depends how you see it.

Richard,
Have seen multiple 7990J's going for ~$1k USD.
Am hoping a 7990R pops up for around that price, and the AUD jumps back up against the green back.

get a 9861 - it'll play MP3 and DVD, and it's full-speed enabled.
optical out is nicer than the 7998

Think it's the asethetics Danny desires, not the DVD-playback, Simon.
