Hey guys,
Hoping somebody around here has managed to get out of their fully hectic, super low supra for long enough to know anything about 4wd's.
I need two new tyres, to replace the rears, but the new ones will be swapped with the fronts.
I was quoted $250 each for Cooper ATR tyres fully installed, but I have heard conflicting reviews about them, I know that they have a 90,000km guarantee and a lot of poeple swear by them, but I have also heard that they chip easily and don't do so well in the wet.
The other problem is the amount that they cost, I'm a first year uni student, so money is a bit tight, but I don't mind paying for a superior product if it is worth it.
So what I would like to know is whether anybody has used these tyres or know anything about them?
If anybody can steer me in the right direction for my new set it would be awesome.
Cheers

Ps. The car is a 1992 Nissan Terrano (Japanese import Pathfinder) 2.7l turbo diesel.

hi mate,

I have a set of the atr's fitted and they go alright, work well in mud and on dirt, havent been on the sand or rock with them yet.

ive done about 20,000 since fitting them and the only issue i have is one of my tyres is starting to develop small cracks around the sidewall - im assured its nothing but ill keep taking it back every 10,000km for them to check it out.

if i had my choice again id go the mickey thompson atz - i was planning to get these but got caught out at the last minute with bald tyres and a puncture so had to take what i could get.

Wow! Someone finally replied to this thread lol.
The ATZ's seem to get good reviews from everyone that uses them, I don't know whether I should go for the 5 or 4 rib tread, I will be using them mainly on the beach which I realise is sand, but is also wet...
Awesome! Just looked, there is a dealer about 200m from my house!

got the atz smile.gif not sure what they are worth but get whichever you can afford - splurge on the 5 rib if you can - cant hurt in the long run

All my mates around here use BFG A/Ts or Maxxis Bighorns. Let me know how the ATZ's go.
