So some may already know, i have a RF amp 300-1 which means:

4 Ohm = 150 RMS
2 Ohm = 300 RMS

I leaning towards these two subs, I have heard the Kicker and I like them, but no one has the MTX one on demo, so wondering if any of you guys know, or recommend any in particular.

For the Kicker I would run 150 RMS @ 4 Ohm to the Kicker C12

Or run 300 RMS into the Kicker CVR12 @ 2 Ohm

Or run 300 RMS into the MTX T7512-44 @ 2 Ohm

I will only run one 12 in a sealed box since I have a small boot space. Any suggestions/recommendations?

Budget?

Again, not really a full on SQ dedicated thread.

Have you heard any other subs besides the Kicker? Its probably best to expand your options to more than MTX and Kicker. Up to you.

Love how you always say that!! How is it not? Im after the better sounding sub out of those 3!

Budget doesn't really worry me, ideally no more than $400 for a sub, but if it's worth it, I'll pay more!

The SQ section is more based on talking about how to increase it, not for product comparisons. The general or beginner sections is more aimed at these type of questions. The SQ isn't for "which sounds better x or z" but going into detail discussing different methods. At least thats how I see it, and that's generally how it's moderated as well I find.

Also to consider within your budget would be
alpine type-R SWR-1222D, JL audio 12W3v3-4, digital designs DD2512a, Treo TSi 12.4, Rockford P2D2/4, P3D2/4.

Really, it comes down to seeing if you can listen to the gear and choosing from there. You will want a fairly efficient sub as you have a smaller amount of power on tap, but it is still enough to get the subs moving. Head to a few specialist stores if you can, or alternatively see if there's a test n tune/meet up/measq event in the near future that you could attend and have a listen to a huge range of systems.

Well I thought i was within the title of 'sound quality discussion' with my topic. I guess I see it different!

I do like the RF P3D412, but they are rated at 500 RMS, my amp can only pump 300 RMS into it, isn't that a little low?

Nope, and Nope.

My idea of sound quality and your idea of sound quality are completely different with regards to brands. So we cannot put brand vs brand in a sound quality discussion, the discussion would never have a definate answer nor a correct answer - someones tastes doesn't equal SQ.

300wmrs is enough power to power every sub I can think of to adequate listening levels smile.gif
The 500watt rating is just that a rating, it will give you a bit of headroom if you accidently send a clipped signal to the sub.
