Damn straight!

But then again I didn't buy a V8 cos I was worried about fuel economy or the environment....

i've replaced all the suspect parts already...i think.
strangely enough, on the road it feels older than 15yo! bit rattly, the interior looks old skool, and there's lots of roadnoise! bloody alfa's.
to think that the red 156 i had was only 6~7 years newer, but felt lightyears ahead in refinement.

You spend how much doing up the old Alfa and you're talking about the cost of fuel!! Surely it's less than half a bottle of all the treatments you are using for the car - probably less than shipping parts from the UK too!
I might come down and have a look before watching Indy!

ok, it's the
time and fuel.

it'd be a 'whole day' to drop by; probably with 2 hours each way.
weekends off are uncommon for me, so i need to justify everything.

I am in the same boat Rich. Unfortunately both my daily drivers hate being ran on anything other than V-Power, and the whole thing I rarely get a weekend off.
I can't decide to either run the "not-yet finished" Integra or my daily driver, which has NO eq:)

Don't worry - time is a concept I understand - and would believe yours is precious with the amount of time working on the car

heres a couple of pics from today of the things that stood out for me..
im sure damo will have plenty of pics of the day and better qaulity so i wont add too many..
stand out moment for me today, was the pioneer wagon, it sounded insane, had the best centre channel and stage depth ive ever heard, i could have sworn there was another speaker there.. i suppose 3.5 grand of head unit gear alone and endless hours of speaker testing will do that tho..

if anyone gets the chance, have a listen to it..
