AS per topic, I am chasing a HDMI dvd player that is region free capable. I want a unit that change to Region 0.
What is everyone else using, I know its piss easy with a non-HDMI unit. But, not having much success in finding one

Oppo x2
I have the DV981HD - easy to mod too

it does SACD to PCM Conversion, so no DSD on HDMI, but picture and sound are great. Upscales to 1080p as well - does a good job of it. DTS and Dolby Digital are nice over HDMI
apparently the 983 is better again in picture, but loses a few features IIRC

I use a Samsung unit from Harvey Norman (Came free with TV) and Upscales to 1080i etc and plays any region. So for something local that might be a good idea.

Players = Region locked
Discs = Some region locked (so open region discs will play on any player)
