Why has the 160gt have four mounting holes and the grill has 6??
only two of the holes line up

just curious
Pyroay
Dont know that does seem strange.

Maybe the wrong grills shipped? I know that the suppliers of Dynaudio were sold out of grills recently, so they may be the wrong set...

i had these for a FAIR while
even in the brouchoures(sp) the pic is like that
Hutch
The GT driver is a car specific driver whereas the MK2 is a derivation of a home driver. Dynaudio have never gotten around to making a new grill surround. 90% of installs use either the factory or a custom grill so it is rarely an issue. I wish I had a better answer than that, but that is the truth. The Danes see things a little differently......

I got this reply from an email to Dynaudio

QUOTE
The SYSTEM 240GT is designed to built in 160mm EURO/DIN holes used in a lot of car doors. Normally you don't need the grill because it is included in the door already.

And also talking to Hutch, he suggested the following
QUOTE
Two things you can do, one, drill holes through the mounting flange to correspond with the grill (what most people do) or mount the speaker with two screws, mount the grill with the other two and cut off screw heads and super glue them into the holes in the grill frame. (not highly recommended but has been done before). Or, you could just make custom grill rings.

I still haven't taken the drill to my Dyns. Just too scared sad.gif

i also got told to do that
but i still wanted to know why

now i know

i can sleep tonight
