In regards to the System 360s (ie: 3 ways):
What is their 'optimum' power level?
obviously this depends on x/over frequencies and many other factors
but essentially how much power will be the most you can give them without frying/damaging them?
Just playing around with mine at the moment and im finding they may not actually handle as much power as i first thought...

150Wrms really is getting close to the limit.
The best Dyn System I ever did had SIX MW160s running 90Wrms each and Veritas horns.
Several cars I did with the 8" (MW???) with 200w or more ending up seperating the cones from the coil, warranty was denied........ One car had sealed boxes in the front floor, the other AP through the floor.

lol i have to say i am running 200w rms per side on my dyn 240gt's They sound awesome!!! Just set your gains accordingly and no problems will arise. Dyns arent easy to destroy.

They seem to handle heaps. I have 250rms per side and they handle all of that no problem. Cyberpunky runs more than i do and he has had his for years.
They get a good workout and have lasted well.
Perhaps they couldn't keep up with the DD subs Phil??
Try a lesser sub....LOL

I have discovered that if you want to destroy a speaker you can, its actually quite easy. The Dyn systems are all rated at around 100-130 watts rms. You can of course use 250-300 watts, which I have done myself, with no problems provided there is a brain attached to the volume control. Fire 250 watts into any speaker rated at half that and given enough volume and time and you will destroy it, no problem. And using twice the rated power into a speaker and burning the voice coil or detaching the cone from the voice coil is not a manufacturing defect, and therefore, not surprisingly, is not covered by warranty.

the word *was* is used as im not running them at the moment as i dont have a deck
other wise i had no problems what so ever. as Steve says, if you got a brain attached to the volume knob there shouldnt be an issue, minus the brain and then the issue becomes aparent

pity about that brain issue
cause ill be running about 475 per side
**shakes fist in air**

The cones detaching from completely burn-free coils leads me to think "bad glue joint"..........
As I said 150Wrms is plenty, having a 300W amp ensures that 150W is always squeaky clean.
Phil
PS I have a customer who runs two GT28s at 2 ohm mono per side, it's nice 2x1250Wrms..........almost enough power

Obviously it depends on install too, My 8"s are in a 10 litre sealed enclosure so they have the nice air spring effect to protect them a little and as Phil said clean power is the key.

For 3 ways setup, i rather have 3x2 channels amp... run bi-amp...
But to have a full potential of 3 ways dynaudio considering dynaudio needs a huge a mount of power, 200watts-250watts will do...

Far easier to damage speakers with not enough power compared with too much.
Powers good.

I put 200RMS each side for 220MKII, sounds different compare to 50RMS, more open and cleaner.

200wrms per side for my 240's. Sound much better than having less power

i had 200wrms into my old 240GT's i had..
and now, i'll be feeding similar (but under-rated) power into my Elate 3 ways altho i'll definitely be bi-amping them crossovers..
