Oh you missed my point.
I think it's a joke that such minor pointless indiscretions have been taken to such levels to force someone to think of this.
I hate the f*cking press. They have this radical approach that says that they can do whatever the hell they want with anyone's life and information.... and yet they impose EXTREMELY conservative expectations on anyone who is remotely public - no affairs, no swearing, no being impolite, no getting angry or upset.
One day they will realise how hypocritical they are to expect that they can radically enforce conservative viewpoints. An oxymoron in itself.
This quote sums it up:
QUOTE
The Herald understands Mr Brogden may have been aware that The Daily Telegraph was to publish allegations today that he was involved in another sexual advance to two female reporters. It led early editions of the paper with the headline: "Brogden's sordid past".
I hate the Daily Telegraph.

Mmmm one day everyones bagging him, the next the same people are full of praise and good wishes.
I think he did it to take the attention off what he did. Mind you thats just my opinion from what I've been reading in the paper. Up until monday, I'd never even heard of the guy.

Everyones human, i dont agree with this ideal of ABSOLUTE SOCIAL CORRECTNESS.

Yes but what you fail to realise bob is the press 'make up' the supposed angst & praise. Not to mention they're incredible art at missquoting or re-editing to make the scoop. The press publish that everyone is 'this' and we all think 'that' when 99.9% of us haven't even been consulted . Just like the Corby Case, where the press was responsable for all our alleged opinions and blew the whole case out of proportion and probably did nothing to improve relations with indonesia.
The biggest problem is too many people read they're crap when a large percent of news is bad anyway, what are we , glutons for punishment I think. we'd be all better off if the TV got switched off at 6.00 and we stopped buying newspapers for news.

Yeah exactly, I've formed my opinion just by what the media has said, coz thats all I know of him. So my opinions are based on the "factual" information they present.
We all know the media can be full of crap though
BUT the same people that publicly critisized him are the ones now giving him well wishes. The attention has been taken off what he has been accused and/or admitted doing.

I also heard that there is a far-right religious element in the Liberal Party, who are supposed to be involved with Brogden's downfall...

I suggest, as someone who knows John, you really should know ALL the facts, before any "I heard this, I heard that"

crock of crap...
why is it that it took a year or 2 (or something like that) for the comment about the "mail order bride" to surface?
media ran outa crap to report... so dug up some dirt.... congratulations, youve f***ed someones life, hes done the right thing by resigning and all that, then the media still continues to nail him... hes paid his price, what more do they want?
media craps me...
my next favourite program is today tonight... tonights story was just a classic - violence on tv causing problems with young children - and started showing footage of the recent events in the news, sections outa movies and series they play...
they forgot to mention a few things -
1. The time they were aired
2. The classification given before the program / movie starts
3. Why mummy and daddy let little johhny whos 5 watch something rated M or MA films... (last time i checked, they DID have a rating of 15+, not 5+)
and as for the footage of America - so what? we cant put the news on TV any more? for f***s sake...
Media just love to feed us with constructed bullcrap... how bout the media start taking a look at their actions on how they get "their" story... what the reporters / papparazzi get up to just to get that picture or bugged phone call...
Why cant a celebrity walk around in their own home without some dickhead sitting in a tree with a camera with a telescopic lens on it snapping away...
