No you wouldn't tip at McDonalds, why bother going to Maccas anyways?

Cab's, people that open doors at hotels and airports etc, pizza delivery dudes, etc etc, anyone that basically makes what your trying to do easier or quicker.

fair enough, but i don't believe in tipping at all. why must people be receiving extra money on top of their wage? Most people work hard for their money, I know i do anyway. No one tips me for my efforts sad.gif

As said, tipping is not so much appreciated as expected.
Whether you like the service or not.

I have been reliably informed by family who have lived over there that many restaurant menu's even specifically state "service charge not included".

It's just a different way of doing things.

Yeah when I first moved there I didn't like the idea of having to tip someone just to do their job, but you soon find out they get paid crap, and need the tips to top up their pay. I guess that's why restaurants etc are so cheap, because they pay the employees crap wages.

when I lived in dallas the average working wage was $5.65/hr for the hopsitality people . they lived for tips! was common for me to leave a couple of $$ when I went to Shoneys.
