Hey guys.

I notice there is a bit of talk about DLS gear on here but i also noticed there seems to be very few actual people using the gear or who have seen it... since its more common over here, i thought i'd post a few pics smile.gif Considering DLS currently has more IASCA and EMMA SQ top 5 placings that any other brand on the planet, i'm surprised there isnt more involvement with it in the Aussie scene

Anyway, enjoy.

DLS Classic B6 Component Speakers

I was surprised, the site makes them look real ugly, but in real life, in your hand, they actually look really nice

DLS Reference R6A Component Speakers

I love the cones on these... its like a less fancy version of the cones on my expensive Iridiums, nice biggrin.gif

The magnets are actually slightly BIGGER than those on the Magnesiums, if thats possible :?

LOL these magnets crack me up... i know i have small hands, but those magnets make me look like i'm holding a 10" sub laugh.gif

DLS Ultimate UR10 10" Subwoofer

Somewhere amid all that surround is a cone...

Mmmmmmm..... :yum:

The grill comes free, looks nice too.

You get a FREE KEYRING OMGWTFBBQ!!!!!1!!!one!!eleven! But seriously, they also give you some customised T-Nut screws and nuts... what a bloody brilliant idea, i hope other subwoofer makers cotton on cos that simple addition of a few peices of steel makes install SO much safer and quicker...

DLS Ultimate Reference UR36S 3-Way Component Speakers

The honeycomb looks awesome! biggrin.gif

You can see the top of the voice coil in these... 3", damn thats huge ohmy.gif

The mids look just like the ones on my Iridiums, just a little smaller.

I'm jealous, the crossover looks nicer than the ones with my Iridiums

Alpines previous SPX range (blue cones) are made in Denmark and I read somewhere possibly the same factory. I prefer the cast aluminium baskets on the 6.5" spx but cant comment on a SQ comparison.
The DLS sub sure looks sweet

Thats DST, different company altogether. DST are in Denmark and make Vifa, DST and Scanspeak, along with some custom drivers for Alpine etc. DLS are based in Sweden, and make DLS, some of Morel's gear, and a few other bits and peices smile.gif

Probably not as much as you'd expect... I dont know what the prices for DLS's speakers are over there, but here that model is only just over $1500 smile.gif

From the inquireries i made the DLS Iridium 2 way goes for $1459 but i managed to get it down to $1300 but I'm not looking to get them for probably another 4-months and still not sure whether to get them.

Damo.... don't do anything stupid right now with your setup!!!
KEEP YOUR CURRENT STUFF!!! For now at least anyway.. then see how you go later....

But I remember enquiring about this stuff a while back on here and I didn't get many answers. This stuff does rock.. and I know Car Toys in SA is a big seller of this brand. The 10" looks fantastic and the 3 ways would be very impressive to listen to, I believe. I remember there was a link on CAA with this guy that done some DLS installs in Sweden and the installs were pretty much perfection! If I can find the link... I'll put in up on here.

Thats about right, we routinely sell them for around NZ$1389 so by the time you convert currencies thats about right smile.gif

I'll post some pics of the DLS Iridium 6.3 fronts and A3 and A6 Ultimate amps tonight (they're going into my install smile.gif)

Hi guys.

I have had the DLS Ultimate Reference for quite a while now (although they have not seen much action due to me getting a new car - i dont want to install three ways, just want to keep the trims stock).

I absolutely love the tweeters and mids, beautiful, beautiful sound, however i dont really like the sound of the woofers - they sound very muted for my liking. Overall though they are quite nice. Although i need to get a crossover fixed as it just stopped putting out sound to one of the woofers (i also checked it on the other woofer so it is definitely the crossover). Does anybody have any idea who i can get to fix it... although i am not to worried as i am looking at selling them to make way for some two ways.

Cheers

Ivan

Thats a very ambiguous question smile.gif But if its any indication, i can access most brands i would consider 'high end' pretty cheaply, and yet i decided to go with DLS gear, so that should give you some indication, as should the fact that the top 5 scoring IASCA SQ cars for the 2005 season were all using DLS gear wink.gif

The following pics are some of the gear i'm working on fitting into the MR2. They've been used for testing and mounting etc so the undersides of the speakers etc are a little scratched, but you get the idea smile.gif
