Hey guys,

Just wondering if anyone has run a PG ZX500 Bridged into 2ohm.

I checked the site.. and they mention that its not recommended, but the amp can manage pretty much without hassle (just give it sufficient cooling).

So I was just curious if anyone has done this.. and if so, anyone got any power output figures?
I'd assume close to double (normally 600W x 1 into 4ohm), so maybe around 1000W into 2 ohms?

Thanx smile.gif

not recommended? i was sure they are 1ohm stable per channel, making them 2ohm bridged stable.

According to the site it will work fine (extra cooling will always help) but they don't recomed bridged at 1 ohm. It is current limited to stop it from frying so I wouldn't expect any more than 600w from it.
But if your asking this because you want the ZX amp thats for sale it won't work don't even bother trying. I want that amp damnit. tongue.gif

I bought my PG 600.2 for that exact purpose. The 600.2 is the newer version of the amp you're asking about. In fact, it's exactly the same from what I understand.

No problems with my two 4 ohm Infinitys.

no.. its not cause i want the amp thats for sale..tongue.gif

I want to run a Dual 4 ohm sub off a ZX500 amp.
the ZX500 does 600W into 4 Ohms.. so curious what it would do into a 2 ohm load.

As I said before, the amp is current limited so you won't get much more than 600w at 2 ohm contiuous, however during musical peaks the amp will be able to produce more. I'm not sure how much though, my guess would be in the 800w - 900w area. And damn I should go to bed.

the amp actually does 900W rms @ 13.8 anyway... its SEVERELY underrated! smile.gif

So I was hoping it would be more than this...was just after some actual evidence wink.gif

I knew they were underrated but I never thought that much, thats crazy. Anyways if no one here has any answers you could try here http://www.soundbuggy.com/forum/index.php most of them are big PG fans.
