After opinions on amp to choose....
Mainly after SQ.

Deck will be a Alpine 7969r, which from what ive been told is a top sq deck.

Spkrs will be

front - focal polyglass 165V2 splits
Rears - Eclipse 6x9s (yeah I know not very sq, will be rremoved later with addition of either 2 x Boston Pro 12.5 or 2 x Type X 12's subs.

question is which amp -

Alpine MRV-f340 55rmsx4 @ 4ohms
(0.08%)thd

or
Eclipse EA3422
50W 4 Channel 0.1% THD at 4 Stereo @13.8V
(RMS Continuous Power)

or
Phoenix Gold Octane-R 8.0:4
Which is rated at 125rms x2 @4ohms
(1%)thd

thanks heaps for any advice.
cheers

Um I would choose the PG but for no real reason, I just prefer them over Alpine. Do you have any other choices? Is it 4 channel amps for the rears or for a sub? If its 4 channel for the 6x9's then spend the money on a decent 2 channel amp and run the rears off the deck and SQ wise (well arguably everythingwise) it will sound a lot better. smile.gif

i would choose the alpine, the pg's thd is too high...the spec's for the pg amp is 75rmsx4 at 4 ohms, or 250rmsx2 bridged, trust me, i've got one driving my subs....are you only limiting yourself to these two?

you can't go wrong with either the alpine or the eclipse, the 5rms difference in power is negligible and you'll have to make the decision more on cosmetic value
Stooge007
how long is a piece of string?

how about Audison SRx4? DD C4?

you probably won't hear much of a difference in the amps you have listed. speaker install and sound deadening will affect sound alot more

- Stooge007 out

yeah I was chasing a SRx4 but just missed out on it.

problem is my budget is limited to $300 +postage
