Three questions:

1) has anyone had experience with this sub in terms of building an SQ system?;

2) the sub is rated at 1400 watts peak and 350rms. I have an amp rated at 700rms - what issues (if any) will this cause and specifically, if the gains are appropriately adjusted, will this smoke the sub?; and

3) is $380 a good price for this sub new?

I put one in my ex's Mitsu Mirage in a 1.1ft^3 sealed box powered by a 600Wrms amp. It sounded good to me and as far as I know, it's still going stong 5 years later smile.gif

I imported because they weren't available in Oz at the time, but import cost was $500 or so.

i had one in my last car. it came with a nice enclosure already so not sure what size the box was but i was feeding 500wrms into it and it was quite clean and not boomy. was able to handle a lot of sub frequencies well.

didnt really have a chance to compare it to other subs though... but for the cost, i thought it was value for money.
JMlab.
i just sold the exact sub u refer to on CAA for $180 brand new in box unused, i have heard and know they are a good SQ sub which plays down to very low frequency..

Thanks for the replies gentlemen.

JMlab, it's a shame we didn't speak earlier because I would have probably taken the sub off your hands for that price.
