Hey all,
Did a search but 2 unrelated M/C threads appeared.

Lately been real busy putting my Ducati back together after a lil altercation with a Toyota!!! Oh what a feeling...
Result from this little brain fade(read-my fault) was a set of bent Marzocchi forks, bent left handle bar and a few small cracks in the upper fairing mad.gif

Anyway who has got a bike, road, trail,ag,trials whatever!
Here is the bikes that I/We currently got so far,

ROAD BIKES
Ducati Pantah 500SL 81model (mine)
Honda CBR-1000 89 model (just bought it last week for the other half)

RACE BIKES
Windle Suzuki GSX-1100 sidecar
Honda RS-125 GrandPrix bike 97model
Suzuki RGV-250 club/track day bike 95model

Who rides????????????????????????????????

(who needs music when ya have a Ducati V-twin humming at 9000RPM tongue.gif tongue.gif tongue.gif )

I've been for my licence twice, the first time i had to cancel my test day because of a mates funeral, the second time over on the licencing day i wiped out on the training course due to a oil leak of the bike onto my tire.
I was mad, but unhurt, and didnt make a big issue of it, just walked away a little shaken.

Havent had the time/funds to book in another training course since. Although i do believe i may be able to do the third round for free tongue.gif

I plan to buy a cb-250 thats been mildly thrashed, i'll be happy if it only lasts me a year or so. Then i'm looking at upgrading to a CBR-250 or ZZR-250 for the duration of my p's

or, if the cb is still going strong, save the money and consider options from then up. My only criteria in the bike i'll end up with is
1) Sports bike
2) Twin headlights
3) No underseat exhaust (have plans for electronics going in the seat compartment

I'll keep ya posted.

The ironic thing is, i am quite comfortable on a bike, but not on the street yet tongue.gif

oh, and how funny is that multiple choice quiz of reeky's?

DoD tongue.gif

ps : Nothing like the desmodromic sound, reminds me a bit of a rotary
pps : Your other half wants a litre bike? Jeeeez.
reminds me of another lady friend of mine, just bought a done up 180sx and is buying a ninja tongue.gif

Id love to ride on the road I do love riding when i get the chance on mates bikes. but im too scared to ride on the road. scared of other cars esp in merging intersections etc
Thorin
I've been riding trailbikes off and on for about 8 years, and I juts got a road bike to do my licence with. A little 85' CBX 250. I've been out on the road once so far and it scared the crap out of me. Never ridden a road bike before, and I hadn't ridden any bike for about 2 years. But I got out and 5 minutes later I was soaring along. Can't wait to get my licence for it.

you only need to ride a 250 for one year... you can get a really awesome 600 for the
same price as a cbrrr, they're so not worth it smile.gif

the cb250 is very tame and the zzr is somewhere in between (my first bike was a zzr)

oh, and I ride a zx-9r smile.gif
Liquidity
hmm, i may keep the 250 for a few years because of insurance before i upgrade. Besides, they are bloody nimble.
sidecar44
yeah the CB is a great learners bike.
Finally got the Ducati frame painted in black acrylic with a few coats of clear today...now the reassembly starts tmoro.

Andro getting a CBR,ZZR,or similar 250 is much smarter than buying a 600 and getting busted for riding sumthing way to big!!!
Yeah you can get a 600 cheaper in some circumstances, but you can also get a CBR1000 for cheaper again!!! but either way riding either bike will get you a nice hefty fine etc etc

i race a fair bit, i have a '00 yamaha WR250F for the the farm stuff and a KTM 250sx for the racing. neither has been registered nor do i have my road license.

dad used to have a ducati 996, very VERY nice piece of gear! in fact i sat on the pillion seat from here to phillip island (i live halfway between sydney and brisbane)

im going to be earning a fair amount of cash next year so will probably invest in a vtr250 or something like that.

dad also used to have a pantah, not sure what year it was but he loved the thing. took it across the nullabor 7 or 8 times.

ive had a go on a cbr250 and it felt less zippy then the kato, maybe i should get a dirtbike with some motard wheels on it instead of a roadie...
RagE101
currently ridin an 05 crf450x that i bought bout 2months ago.. thinkin i need sumthin a bit bigger, 450cc just isnt big enuf... hopefully a crf600x is brought out next year biggrin.gif. been ridin dirtbikes since i was 7.. also have a suzuki katana 1100 sittin in the shed that im rebuildin atm smile.gif dont have a bike licence but am goin to do q-ride..
Mitch_ZX
I 'had' rolleyes.gif a suzuki rmx250 it used to flog my mates XRs and WRs and they were better riders than me tongue.gif

Wrote it off in the forestry a couple of years back. Wasn't good.

Still have a DT 200 laugh.gif in the shed that hasn't been started since the crash.

I've been having cravings for a while to start riding again... but i think i just want a nice road bike.
Hutch
I sold my CBR1100XX a few years ago to finance a new kitchen. I now have a WR200 Yamaha dirty to keep the urge satisfied but I sense the return of a road bike to the garage in the near future, or possibly a CR500 turned into a Super Motard, oh baby........
Poisoner
sidey will be back soon guys! to keep this thread going i thought id drop a thread down(requested by the man himself)...

motorbikes are COOOOL! umm yeah...
Mitch_ZX
Well so much for a nice road bike tongue.gif as of today i have a Husky TE250. Its a 06 model LOL.

Had to be a 250 as i'm only 18. But god i'm so happy biggrin.gif
r31baboon
what the husky like. have heard mix reports on them

i dont ride a bike. but i do have an offroad buggy powered by a suzuki ts185 motor.
just bought another buggy unfinished project. it comes with a (pretty sure it is) cbr500r motor. it has been bored to a 550 and had valves and cams worked, it is a well built motor and fully worked.
LowLoudUte
I used to race a YZ125 in motocross until i broke my neck arm etc etc.

So im giving that a break and now own a Fast 50, hit up the jumps down the backyard, screw around with mates. Heaps of fun and cheap as chips 2.
Mitch_ZX
Can't comment on my husky cause i haven't ridden it lol

Yet to be delivered. Mate has a 05 model TE450 and it is very sweet.

Don't need to change much on them. Jetting, suspension tweak is about it really. Chain and sprockets too.

Unlike yamaha etc.

2 year warranty is pretty nice too biggrin.gif

Italian!!! tongue.gif

Earlier models had valve troubles. Half had zooper dooper soft valves but were all covered by warranty. Still nothing like Honda's troubles tongue.gif
BIGW
I have a CBR250RR that lives at my house my best mates but i seem to ride it more haha.

Tracked my bosses 05 1000RR a couple of times.

As for Huskys the guy who owns the 250 had a husky 410 man they are a bitch to start!.
sidecar44
Good to see an interest in the 2 wheels here.
We have a Harley at work (an Electraglide) that has a nice lil stereo in it,altho I reckon wind noise at 110kph could be a pain in the ars...

I just recently scored a new job at a motorcycle shop and love the staff discounts biggrin.gif
The sidecar will see its first time back on the track this weekend after 12 months sitting in a trailer with a blown up motor!!!
New motor, new passenger, and a first timer rider(me,I used to be a passenger) will be getting some mucho needed practice at Broadford roadrace circuit.

Still have my DR-250 up at a mates property on the snowy river, used to go up there every 2nd weekend but have only riden it once or twice in the last year sad.gif Owned an old shcool 125 trials bike for a few years too, no idea what it was, some euro brand
(also owned a postie bike for a few months, wasnt so good for trials riding)

got my L's on the first day possible and bought a Yamaha XZ-550, rode that around for almost a year and sold it off to buy my car

bought dad's ZX900r just last week. Stuffed altenator (is that how you spell it?) and no battery, ordered both last weekend

haven't been completly bike-less for the last 9 months though, still get to borrow dads Harley on the odd occasion
that made for the best entrance ever to a Pimps and Pro's party, was still 17 then too
tl1kr
i bought this new back in 2002. It was the last year they sold em sad.gif V-Twins are the best tongue.gif
Leviathan

And hopefully when bubs is born you can bring he/she to a meet/event so we can have a lil' look.
Welcome back and congrats again.

sidecar44
Suzuki's new GSR-600 is a bike to consider, but Im not sure if its legal to ride on the L+P licences in your state. Its only just been realeased in the last few weeks.

G'day

Good to see a few people on bikes. I would like to see more road bikes but hey.

Anyway, i owned a cbr250 for 16months while i was on my l&p plates. I had it round the island after the world superbikes last year and had it up to a thumping 180km down the straight.

Last year i went into my local honda shop and traded her in.

I bought a brand new cbr600rr. Its got a micron race can, oggy knobs, cbr hand grips, dark tinted screen and small indicators.

Soon to come a solo seat cowel and chrome headlight covers!!!!!

Cheers
sidecar44
Definatly agree with ya Pane, gotta get more of us out there.
Got to recently test the new Triumph 675 Daytona......although testing a bike that is brand new,new tyres!!!,pelting rain,on the Reefton and Black Spur roads with a bike that hasnt been released for sale yet was really interesting.
Ive never gripped a seat so hard as that!
Tmoro I gets me ride on the new Suzuki M109R,going to be interesting riding a bike that weighs 345kg with oil and fuel.......Im about 65!
Heres the beast-

Welcome back man! Haven't seen you round for bloody ages! You've gotta come back to the comps... at least for a visit smile.gif
Pane
G'day

Yeah i rode my bike around the island the week after easter, it was ace. I had it up to 250km down the straight. I was rapt. The sound of the micron at full noise was awesome.

I also took a cbr1000rr for a test ride, it scared the crap out of me. I had it up to 250km also and that was it. I took it back in after 3 laps.

I saw a guy the other day on a new 675, came around the corner in front of me. He tugged on the bars and dropped the clutch and she was on the back wheel in second and third gears. I was surprized that those things could do that.

Cheers

If it was Graphite Grey Im tipping I knows them too.
Pane
G'day

It was a new blue one and on victoria parade in the city.

Whats the fastest any one has been on there bike. Ive got a digital speedo and i had it up to 252kmh down the straight at the island.

Cheers
sidecar44
Chris Panayi is racing one at the moment,he has the scorched yellow one.As for top speed ,I hant asked him yet,but I only managed 140ish cause it was pelting down when I was riding the work demo.
I think Steve Brouggy from the Oz Superbike School has one to.

Ill hopefully get to take Chris's for a spin at Broadford soon...... smile.gif
