Calling all experienced Dynaudio users/installers
What say y'all as a comparison of the two.
1) Which do you think has the smoother reproduction of high end
2) Which would be the better choice in a 3 way system (MD170+MD140/2)
3) Which is easier to instal
Cheers
P.S. I dont have immediate access to either for a personal comparison

esotars =D
you wont need 3 ways then =D
sorry but my post prolly didnt help but really i would seriously think about them instead of 3 way application the 240 mids + a set of esotars will be mint.

sorry m8 it would be nice but any one who spends $1500.00 AUD on a set of tweeters has to be either rich or missing a couple of components between the ears!!!!!
I am neither

One advantage of the MD130 or the MD330 over the MD100 is their ability to play low, thus no need the MD140 mid range. You really have to audition them in a store to find out whether its worthwhile. But in most cases, the MD130 is sufficient.

So in a 3-way setup the MD100 would be the 'only' suitable tweeter.
The MD130 & Esotars are obviously for 2-ways.
Thanx

isnt it like 1999 for a 2 way set with esotars? Assuming you havent got the midbasses yet

THe only way your going to get the MD130 to work with the 3way is if you run active or get a custom passive x-over made. Ive listend to the 3 ways with the MD130 run of the system360 x-over and sounded pretty crap.
Ive got the MD130 in a two way set up run active off a Audio Control digital x-over, and ive got the 130 crossed over at 2k which is quite low compared to the MD100 in the 240. IMO its worth the extra money for the MD130, but is it better than the 3way, i think it comes down to ease of installation.
But if your looking at teaming the 130 in with the 3way, then your nearly at the same price as the esotar in which case your better of with them.

its alll install dependant
yes the md130 is a far superoir tweeter but can you place it in the idea spot??
this is where a smaller tweeter has a massive advantage

very very very hard choice, talk to you installer about different tweeter locations for your car. Then choose a tweeter to suit your install.

Can agree with Lex, the MD130 definetly has to be run active for maximum results. Used this in ex's S40 running active through AudioControl DQX. The MD100 I reckon is a nice tweeter, and if you're not going active I reckon stick to that.
