I got myself a VB commodore which i have put a new $2500 engine in it. I have spent $1000 on putting new 4W disks brakes and spent about $500 doing the stering system on it. It runs briliant and did a dino of just over 120HP on the rear wheels.

However, it is in need of a decent paint job cause it is about 30 colours (no kidding). I am wanting to get rid of it and a paint job is worth $2000 +, so my question is should i try to sell the car as is and registered for $2000 - $3000 or paint it and try to get $4000 - $5000 cause i believe that last choice is a big ask. No one will pay $5000 for a 20+ year old car will they. or have i wasted my money.

seriously, no matter what engine, brakes, etc... you have in it, it'll be hard to get that kinda cash.

Your only hope of getting $3k for it now is selling it to an enthusiast for a project.

You are never gonna make money on a car you do up, so if you plan on keeping it, then do so, have fun, spray it by all means, but if not, sell ASAP and get something you wanna keep.

Do an insurance job if ur car is insured..
or keep and put a big motor 355 stroker with a blower out the bonnett paint it black salm it on gold bbs 16x10 at the rear and 15x7 up front.

That would like crazy.
