I'm a bit busy at the moment so I don't have the time to do this myself. That's why I'm coming to you guys for help!
What I need is the superman logo (sample below or you can work from scratch) but I want it to have an 'A' instead of an 'S'.
I'll see what I can come up with in the time I have but I'm sure we have some accomplished designers here. Post your designs here or you can email them to me and I'll put them on my server for you so others can see them. I'll accept hand drawn designs too... just scan them in.

captial a's really dont work with this design (being little up the top and wide down the bottom) a small a might work but

Yeah, I had a quick go myself and know what you mean with the capitals.

That looks good. Maybe a font type more similar to the original though? I know 'A's aren't curvy but maybe try make it look a bit more similar? Awesome effort though, I'll keep it on hand!

mmm i have tried a few more, its a pretty basic design so pretty easy to do quickly, so if you have a font in mind just let me know and i will try it out, here are a couple more tries:
