which barina? suzi based or Opel based. one has an adapter one doesnt.
THEONE
Sep 30 2005, 05:52 PM
suzi i think i'll find out it's a early 90's one
Audio Express
Oct 1 2005, 08:01 AM
ok if its a suzi then there is not a plug for it ( unless its a 97 swwift) so you will have to poke and prod to find what you are after.
if its an OPEL then aeropro make a ISO -> bare wires plug for it ( really depends on the OEM unit.) and the antenna is different as well.

ok i found out it's a 98 model does that help ??

what car audio retailers do you have up there in the mountains?
Places like Autobarn etc should either stock the harness Chris suggests or be able to order them in.
You'll also need a european antenna adaptor cause they have pain in the ass plugs on them.
should have 6" factory splits, well my 94 did.
the only place you'll get 6x9s in a barina is in the rear shelf, just buy a sub/amp combo and give her some real bass.
THEONE
Oct 4 2005, 10:28 PM
um none i will have to go to penith thats my clostest autobarn ,jaycar, supercheap.
so they make an aeropro wireing harness for a 98 model ?
so whats this antenna plug look like ,do jaycar sell them ?
Audio Express
Oct 4 2005, 10:31 PM
yep . tell me what radio you are putting in and I'll tell you what plug you need. jaycar will have the plug (AP349 from aeropro- $6 - plug is $14 for a radio specific one.)
THEONE
Oct 4 2005, 10:47 PM
um im not sure yet ,prob depends on what she thinks "looks good"

THEONE

THEONE
Oct 17 2005, 10:05 PM
ok i'll do that ,but should it just plug stright in ??
also new problem ,if she has the stereo on when driving the car goes wierd and nearly stalls and lights go out and stuff but i'll take a pic as soon as i can
Michae1
Oct 17 2005, 10:47 PM
that stalling thing aint stereo related, its just an Opel birth defect(actually more like a reoccuring rash) that rears its ugly head from time to time.........
but try checking the fuel filter too...........
Audio Express
Oct 18 2005, 07:24 AM
yes it should. however, rather than making assumptions I would like to see what you have ( I have two of these cars in van form) and fix the problem for you.
re the stalling: its an opel thing. as is rough running on a hot day.

sorry mate i dont really understand that ,i know im dumb ,
so you dont want me to use the plugs just wire them up like normal ,do you have a wiring diagram ,or the colours of the wires for what they do ?
thanks
Audio Express
Oct 28 2005, 06:35 PM
use the plugs you have. plug them so they fit. SWAP the yellow and red wires around as opel wire them backwards.
your plug should have the red and black wires on top of each other and the yellow off to the side.
use the diagram and wiring I gave you above and it will work.
( pay for a plane ticket down and I'll fix it in 30secs..)
tower
Oct 30 2005, 10:31 AM
you need to swap the red and yellow as the maybe around the wrong way some of the audis , barina s are bum about
THEONE
Oct 30 2005, 10:47 AM
i swaped them around and it does nothing ,the headunit wont even turn on if i do that
Audio Express
Oct 30 2005, 11:32 AM

ok an update
speakers are in and working
wired headunit up and working now keeps memory,
bad news when ever you drive the car with stereo on theres no speedo, temp,or km working ,and then it the battery lights comes on and it stalls,
as soon as you turn the stereo off the car works fine
can anyone shed some light on that
Audio Express
Nov 6 2005, 05:41 PM
take teh car to penrith and get the stereo fitted professionally. seriously.
this will save you destroying a $500 engine management computer just to save $90..
remove the stereo and drive it to a shop.
THEONE
Nov 6 2005, 05:56 PM
