hey guys my old nvidia tnt2 riva cards fan wont work...

i wouldnt knwo what could be the problem, ive checked the wiring to the fan, all seesm to be fine

anyone help?

This must be a common problem since I have an identical card which the fan made bad noises then failed.

Some nVidia TNT2's don't even have fans for some reason...

Best advice is to replace the card with a better one

i've got a blue orb video card heatsink/fan sitting round doing nuffin, i'd probably want $15+ freight for it tho.
and it'll only really work if the heatsink on your video card is removable.

good point,
the card may not be supplying power to the fan...
usually your mobo has a connector on it the same as the fan on your video card (for a chipset fan) you could try it and see if the fan works.
if it does, you'll need a new card,
if it doesn't maybe just a new fan..

Would the card work without the fan? I have one lying around that has the fan but its stuffed, but I also have one with the same chipset but doesn't even have a fan...

generally, the ones without the fans have better designed heatsinks. If its lying around and your not using it, just give it a try without the fan, it will work, but i dont know for how long
