After a months wait to get my stupid Pocket PC fixed (battery exploded) the nice people from NEC sent me a new one. Its got all sorts of nifty features, like Off-line E-mail, Scheduler, Contacts list and such. It'll record & play back WAVe files, Mp3's and AVI's. It's even got an offline Movie Time Table for my local cinema, an offline version of the Sun Herald and such..

Which is all nice, but not fun.. so I look around for a program to remotely control WinAmp from the Pocket PC while its docked to my work PC.
Then I find a program called TV Remote.
What does it do ? Converts your Pocket PC into a full customisable, skinnable, programmable IR remote control !

I've got a PS2 remote & Alpine RUE-4135 remote built into my Pocket PC ! At lunch I'm getting the model #s for our TV's, DVD's, VCR's and everything else I can find and downloading their remotes too

I'm trying to work out if it's a case of too many toys - or too much time on your hands - but I think both

Good find though

just to add to the discussion...

i just got my nokia 7650 + total IRremote(psiloc) software working with my pioneer headunit.

interesting thing is that it has more functions than my stock remote. i can 1 button pause and turn off, which i can't from stock.

These are fun for controlling other peoples tv's

total remote is the new version that allows you to import code files and map them rather than be stuck with just the inbuilt ones. you can get codes from the links above.

if you search yahoo groups for "7650" you might find some stuff of interest

haha yes i must admit to doing stuff like that too
BlackIce
Well first thing I'll do is build a IR Booster Box.. then next time I'm a passenger in a car cruising the highways in Sydney I'll turn peoples HU's off and stuff
