I fitted some chrome aftermarket door handles but they do not work properly!
When you lift the handle, the f***ing things dont close again! Im pretty sure it's because these aftermarket ones dont have a counterweight, which force the handle back to closed position.
This means if you lock doors from the inside (and the handle on the outside isn't totally closed) there is no way for you to get out!!!
I wish it was as easy as putting the originals back, but the clip that joins the door rod to handle is a single use thing. Once its on, it doesn't come off without breaking it. No idea where I'd get these clips new. Toyota maybe.
Anyone had this happen? what to do?
