just wondering what box dimensions you guys have used or would recomend for a alpine 12" type s sub in a n14 pulsar hatch back running off only bout 200wrms laugh.gif

SSS_Hoon
Maz
1.5cubic foot sealed. They like large sealed box's.
SSS_Hoon
even for spl purposes?

SSS_Hoon
Shieldsy
heres a tip.
don't listen to maz.
why don't you chuck it in the box you had for the 3512 man?
SSS_Hoon
i was thinkin i would try that, it would be running of a 5 channel us audio amp laugh.gif or my 2*75 watt pioneer 2 ch hehehe

is 50L too much sealed? these type s's tend to be louder in sealed boxes. i have had my 2 sealed in 40L and ported in 100L(tuned to 45Hz) and both boxes read very similar on the meter. now im using the 100L box sealed an test that and see what happens?
BlackIce
Could always put it in a wheelie bin, looks a bit like a box wink.gif. haha.

Slap it in the DD box and if it sounds bad, plug the port.
SSS_Hoon
sounds like the way to go is the dd box, if it fits i dont want to cut it up.

and cannot be bothered or have the time to build another one.

i have seen 2 type s 12's selaed in a lancer doing 142's. N14 will be even better. (Hatchback) The box looked about 1.2 -1.5 cuft each side.
SSS_Hoon
yeah in only have one and prolly no where enar as much power as that lancer would of been feedin it to get a 142.

i think the lancer you are talkin about is on this forum and each type s had 0.8cuft. ive had my 2 do 142.7 on termlab in a 40L sealed box in a civic hatch.
SSS_Hoon
how much power were these getting?

i will prolly only giving it about 200wrms if that,as i think its a single 4ohm coil config.

SSS_Hoon
adam87
they were getting about 300 i think from memory. i am giving mine about 390wrms. pitty its not dual 4 ohm.
SSS_Hoon
yeah i know i wish it was dual 4ohm woulda been better, might just leave it as a everyday sub now instead.

if this of any interest to you my 2 type s did 143.1 on my local shops meter last weekend. this meter reads 1.5 to 2db lower than termlab. so ill see how we go on sunday on termlab at BAS. there in 50l boxes with a 4" port that is 220mm long with each end flared. its agreen civic hatch.
Michae1
are your S Types in separate enclosure?

Try a common enclosure around 4.5cu.ft, would work out to be 2cu.ft (around 60l per sub) and a single 6" aeroport, then tune high 50s.

subs and port both firing up.

you in theory should go a little louder as you'll have the 2 subs loading together creating extra output.
SSS_Hoon
i only have one sub though?

but i think that wasnt aimed at me though right?

SSS_Hoon
Michae1
yeah, thats right.......
adam87
sounds like an idea. all have to speak to you a BAS. ive got a green civic hatch. come say hello
Michae1
I wont be hard to find, giving the barina and the DDs a final run before retiring the barina...
Alpine State of Mind
2 type s's doing 140 what amp was being used to push them type s subs aren't overly impressive for their stats for SPL
adam87
two mrdm301's running at 2ohms. at BAS they did 143.2. interesting hey.
Alpine State of Mind
yeah thats awesome performance from such a budget sub...
i was thinking about getting one of these also, just for everyday use running off the mrp 350(i think, it comes in a package) ive heard they are accurate but obviously reading these messages they can pump out the volume too, its impressive.
MADTRAV
call an alpine specialist and they can direct you to the correct box to suit your needs as alpine put out tech bulletins on there products.

also specify model number as they change box parameters in each model
